Low Dose Aspirin

Been buying those coated aspirins for some time now. You know the ones that you take in order to thin the blood just a wee bit and perhaps prevent a stroke.

Been paying around $15 for 100 plus can't recall exactly. Anyway yesterday I went into Geelong and found ordinary low dose chemist's brand aspirin 112 for $2.99 they list the normal price at $5.99 unbelievable. Mind you they are not coated but with me having no tummy problems that didn't matter.

Also got 100 paracetamol tablets for $2.39 normally $4.69.
It was at Chemist Warehouse Geelong in Little Malop Street. First time I went in there got a few other bargains it's a big place.

Well donie hughie...............

I have been using DBL aspirin 100mg dose. Available at all chemists but I get them at Priceline for $2.95 for 100 tablets. Been using them for about 2 years now and no problems.

Moggy,

I have been using DBL aspirin 100mg dose.

Hi Moggy,

Yes that's the brand I bought. I noticed while in the UK last year that their low dose aspirin is 75mg.

Hughie I used to take it (low-dose aspirin), but had to stop some years ago when diagnosed with stomach ulcers.

But I do find many pharmacy products cheaper at Chemist Warehouse.

I never knew that such places existed and yet when I look at their brochure and see all the stores they have I'm thinking maybe I should get out a wee bit more. Silly sausage that I am. ;-)

Pee Ess : What a glorious sunny day today down on the coast.

Have you ever tried Solprin? from Chemist Warehouse it is dissolving aspirin at that....and only

$2.99 for 100 how good and cheap is that?

Must be lovely down at Port this eve. Oops it is morning now - better get to bed.

Sorry , hope I did not wake you I see you and Betty are fast asleep with the window open and

the sea breeze wafting in - how lucky are U2.

Be good,

Phyl.

Think we might have to rename you the Scarlet Pimpernel, Phyl.

You seem to be everywhere. ;-) Hughie

Of course! I just lay on my upside down machine head near the floor feet near the roof and

meditate myself anywhere in the world I want to be, so you see anytime you and Betty feel

a breeze blowing around your ankles it could be ME coming to visit "me ole home town".:)

Few boats adrift tonight Hughie? the wind she did blow hey?

Be good.

Hello everyone,

How are you Phyl, still standing on your head.?

DBL aspirin is a low dose SLOW release, used to thin the blood over the whole 24 hours.

The dissoving kind are usually fsst acting and not useful in heart conditions.

Now , they tell me. the nurses training advises that they start using aspirin daily when they reach 35years of age.

Hopefully the idea of thinning the blood is preventive medicine, thus avoiding heart problems.

Personally I find it a bloody pain, as i am forever bleeding and bruising, just from everyday activities.

Love these attachments.

Regards

Charlee.

Thanks for that Charlee. I had no idea the 100g a day of aspirin needed to be coated.

(I did actually now I remember if people have ulcers)

My doctor did say just 1/2 one a day and in fact one said just buy the cheapest available as they are all the same but your advice has merit to it I feel - I just thought the aspirin regardless kept the blood thin all the time.

No head to the floor feet in the air today Charlee as I have a "blinding migraine" poor me.

I will buy the coated ones.... You sound like you love your driving and travelling my friend - good for you.

I like my own sheets and bits and pieces as when I stay at a motel take SO much Peter says "we should just stay at home" lol Mind you with our two babies Espresso and Vienna

(cats) we will not leave them to go more than down the street shopping but we love em to pieces so choices and decisions what to do we all have and we chose to have furries and we feel blessed.....They allow us to live a fun life in their home so why would we complain :)

Be good.

Phyl.
