Milked Dry

Milked Dry: The awful price being paid by Australian dairy farmers for the milk we drink.

Something sneaky happening here and it has to be stopped

... the public were "duped"!  - It made no difference whatsoever to the farmer's financially - they did not get one dollar extra.........I saw a guy talking about it over the week-end........I think the whole thing is disgusting - also that Four Corner's programme ........had to be seen to be believed!! How sad.

.... there are over 50 applications in for Govt. aid from Dairy Farmer's and only a couple - so far - have been processed!  This guy was saying - "it will be too late by the time the other funding gets approved.... the farmer's need the money NOW" - not in 69 days (plus) time - or however long it takes some Govt.  "pen pusher" to sign off on it!!     PATHETIC!!!

Everyone (public) tried to help - did what they thought/told was the right thing to do - what for?

Chinese will be having a good old "property buy up" ..........?

Great news for dairy farmers

. Wonder if they will pay back the taxpayers their subsidies .

A light-hearted aside ... this is what cows on Australian dairy farms are really meant for.

Maybe Girly's wonders are why I am in full support of Australia's dairy farmers and their herds.

Great pic, is that really  you?

Yep.... me with/on Girly ... wonderful cow, milked her everyday.

:) And used to ride her down to catch the horse.

Loved that cow. Stiil do in my memories.

Cool

And not to be ignored, there was Piggy ... a Landrace Sow ... and the 'top' pet a year later.

Freakin' amazing ... just like a dog and very affectionate.

She loved milk too.

Yes I agree all Animals should be loved and respected -- I am afraid I would never make a farmer -- (that did it for a living)

Great shots  RnR

Fantastic pics RnR, yes PB, mum held the lambs while dad cut off their tails and removed other bits I won't mention, not for the faint hearted.

Delightful childhood pictures RnR...spent  some lovely summer holidays on a farm in Devon..UK .

We had Jersey cows too RnR my cow I milked was called Felicity such a beautiful gentle nature and the longest eyelashes, like you I can still see her and almost smell her, watching me.

Our pigs were big whites but like the Bull we were forbidden to go into their  pen as they could have crushed us, never made into a pet like yours.

Foxes are beautiful to look at definitely not welcome in the Henhouse though but our 2 Alsatians kept them away from the farmyard.

RnR -  Loved your photos. What a wonderful upbringing you must have had on the Farm.

......  yeah - and from which "Internet site" ??????

Anyone can "photo shop" pics?

:) Be nice Foxy ... my family has a history of treasuring foxes.

Mum and her beloved pet fox 1946.

They were hollyhocks in the background. Haven't seen them for years. Does anybody still grow them?

If in doubt re the source of my pics, try the Gorgeous Google image search ... won't find my pics posted earlier above and my mum and 'Foxy' anywhere else.

:) Would you believe it ... that was what my mum called that little fox.

.....that is a really nice pic. - I thought Hollyhocks were only English flowers....same as Primroses ... Snow Drops - Pussy Willow etc. ?   :-)

Not like I'd know anyway - dislike gardening  (although just love flowers!)   My gardening exists of "instant gardening" - pots and hanging baskets of flowers/plants from Bunnings  lol

Mum used to grow Hollyhocks -- I have not seen them in many decades

Those photos are a treasure ... thanks for sharing :)

You are so lucky to still have these precious photos RnR and it's a pleasure to see them, thanks for posting.

Thank you all for the lovely comments about my pics. Much appreciated.

Got my Aldi catalogue

Advertized are Australian strawberries for 99 cents a punnet .... how can the farmers afford to produce strawberries at such a low price ???

Is it another case of "milked dry " ????

Abby I am sure it is a case of them ripping off willy nilly -- these super markets are plain outright robbers
