New Google AI feature can have real conversations
At the 2018 Google I/O conference yesterday, a new ground-breaking update for Google Home and Assistant was been revealed. The new feature, Google Duplex, allows users to make phone calls for you and to talk to the person at the other end to schedule appointments and reservations.
While the feature is currently the first stage of an on-going experiment looking to integrate AI into our lives, this is a real leap forward into creating AI experiences that interact with our everyday lives. In five years’ time, I can envisage all starting interactions with companies such as Telstra, Pizza Hut and OPSM being started with a smart AI platform.
Amazing technology but
AI Duplex collects people’s voice signatures to continue training the robot and even its own voice seems to be a synthesis of one or more human voices
..... my concern is the issues about privacy and data collection.
How is the security industry going to defend against breaches enabled by this new technology in imitation of people ?
