Older women struggling

Older Australian women need help to combat poverty, homelessness (yourlifechoices.com.au)

What do you think about the situation of older women struggling in this day and age?   Why do we have to continually expect the taxpayers to pick up the tabs for the homeless, indeed why do we have homeless people in the first place?

When I was in my late 30s with two young sons to bring up alone I did a retraining education.  Why isn't this available for women?      I am sure there is, but it easier to feel sorry for themselves or turn to drugs.

Life is hard but it makes it harder if the parents don't pull themselves together and work.

This needs to be addressed asap.

Yes,  Celia,   there are some very hard times and some of us get through them and some don't --not always because they do the wrong thing --maybe they also might have health problems??

I have seen a few life stories on the TV and they lived the high life in the younger days then had nothing when they needed it and are now living in their car, that would be their own fault
