I think Oprah is great at giving a speech...whether she would be a good President who knows...but she certainly would appeal to me more than Kanye West (who sprouted some time ago that he was going to run) and also the Rock.

Well she's black, female and a tv star,  so she's in with a good chance, as that seems to be the way many people vote these days.    On a more practical note her friendship with Harvey Weinstein could throw a spanner in the works

Why? Is everyone guilty by association now Darcie?

And I'd just like to point out that whilst I am no defender of abusive people (that's people - not just men), I do think that the immediate sacking of the men who are being accused BEFORE they have even been charged with any crime, let alone found guilty and convicted, is premature to say the least. It amounts to the same kind of abuse and bullying that the men stand accused of.

"Why? Is everyone guilty by association now Darcie? "

Blimey some of you people love to re-interpret what I say.   For crying out loud.!!!!!!!!!!And jump on to my words with YOUR projection of what you THINK I said.

What I said and I'll spell it out for you was:

might put a spanner in the works.

The reason for saying that IS because of the trial by media, not by me!!!

The same trial by media has happened to every single one of the famous people who have been publicly accused, and I consider it very wrong both from the accusers and the media.

I wonder why these same people defended Bill Clinton's behaviour? There were a few jokes around about it but he didnt get banned from the Golden Globes. It must be a political thing. Gee who wants to be a middle aged white male Republican these days?

We need Sir Ringo to become an American citizen, fake his birth certificate, then run for president. He'll win for sure. Drum roll ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ PRESIDENT RINGO.

Awe, gee?? I dont know if Oprah can do it? There is some pretty stiff competition. The likes of The Rock, Michele Obahma, and a host of others who have had their spirits lifted by the Trump success. My advice to Oprah is to get a good running mate, get some good people around her. Whoopi Goldberg and Meryl Streep come to mind. If They are looking for a white male then look no further than Gerry Seinfeld. It's amazing how so many American Comedians have lost their sense of humour since the election. Most are still in shock I guess.

I think what is upsetting the Democrats is that the Trump administration have just announced a rise in the minimum wage. Yes I know the lefties are supposed to do that sort of stuff.

Just another way to try and discredit Trump. Mind you, if Turnbull can be PM with his lack of political nous what is there to stop Winfrey becoming President. I note the room was full of people who spend their life pretending to be someone else and more than a few of them promised to leave America if Trump was elected. Certainly a crowd with masses of credibility.

Great post.

This is another bullshit. Not because she's famous and rich she can be the president of the USA. No way Jose. She might even be worse than Trump. The political problem in the USA is the one causing them to go down and maybe the predictions that China will overcome them will come true if they will not change their strategies. Watchout this may happen sooner than we expect and it will be scare to the whole world

Oh for heaven sake another   'Celeb' for the highest postion-- give me a break -- by the way I had to check who the hell  Kanye West was -- FGS someone conected to the bloody  -- Kardashians -- the best bloke for president would be    Jesse Ventura   there is NO BS about him and he is VERY knowledgeable and knows what goes on AND has lived in the real world too.

I have  no idea whether Oprah would make a good President..who knows...my feeling is..whatever she does she will be good at it.

What sickens me is the sort of world we still live in when a black woman has to stand up and say  “I am honoured I am the first “black woman” to.....

I want the day to arrive when a woman of any colour will be able to stand and say “I am the first woman” and no reference made to her colour…

I better not agree with you Thea or the sheeple will think I'm you. Awww heck who cares? I agree.

Oprah,  gave up her TV show because it was impinging on her life -- FGS she is s billionaire  and has a darn good life  can do what the hell she wants -- why would she even want to become president -- unless it is like the others for an ego trip

You need to watch some of the Jessie Ventura stuff -- that bloke knows what he is talking about and does NOT follow the BS and he has guts too.

I stopped listening to professional wrestlers as a teenager.

I am not into wrestling either -- he has done other things as well and lived in the real world -- but have you listened to Ventura at all -- just give it a go and see how darn correct he is -- yes he can be a bit too  -- in your face --  sometimes -- but he sure makes a hell of a lot of  sense and tells it like it is

Homer Simpson for Prez

I think 0prah would be a great president because she has shown so many already what a truly decent person she is. Bring on the day......

Ideally I would like to see her run as an independent but don’t know if that is possible?

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump questioned why the U.S. would admit people from “shithole coun-tries” Thursday, roiling discussions over a bipartisan Senate deal to protect young undocumented immigrants.

Love a plain speaking Pres unlike the gooblygook from Oprah

The White House didn’t deny the “s***hole remarks. Spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement that while “certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries,” Mr Trump “will always fight for the American people.”

He said Mr Trump wanted to welcome immigrants who “contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation,” and will always reject “temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures” that he says “threaten the lives of hardworking Americans” and undercut other immigrants.

Go the Don

THE LEAD STORY: Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Seal doesn’t seem to be on the "Oprah 2020" bandwagon. The musician trashed Winfrey on social media just days after her widely praised speech at the Golden Globe Awards on sexual misconduct in Hollywood, calling her a “part of the problem for decades.” ...

In a fiery Instagram post Wednesday, Seal republished a pair of photos of Winfrey with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, including one in which she is seen kissing the producer’s cheek. Overlayed on the photos, in all-caps, is the text: “When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution.”
