I would have continued with my help had we been on MSN and chatting one on one

That way no harm to her PC... or even over the phone

Simple fixes are ok written here but anything to do with the registry needs a more hands on

I agree the problem needs a 1/1. I am surprised that a techie from the server cannot be more help, albeit, I have found over the past 20 years (wow)( time sure goes quickly) the younger techies cannot discuss in peoplespeak. Seems that the advice is given 'parrot fashion'. Remote access would be good, but, I have spent countless cost free hours trying to explain to seniors that REGULAR MAINTENANCE is required, and , REGULAR updates from Microsoft to close the loopholes.
