Over 50 and depressed?

Western doctors rarely include a test for Vitamin B12 in your regular blood test. Before you dismiss this as just a deficiency, which can be fixed by a bottle of supplements from your local chemist, maybe you need to think again. Anyone suffering from indigestion, depression, restless leg, and 'degenerative' pains in the spine and neck, would benefit from such a test. Recent changes suggest an operative level of 1,100: anything under 600 is a deficiency. I URGE you to have this test done: I am facing the remainder of my life blind and in a wheelchair. I had many symptoms over the last decade, and they were all diagnosed with fancy names: now that I have a REAL diagnosis, I can see that all these ailments were leading in the same direction.

Numa, sorry about your troubles, it was good of you to take the time with a warning of what can happen if a deficiency is not diagnosed.

It is no trouble for anyone to ask their Doctor for a full blood test, which is essential as you age.
