Permanent Makeup

I am in Melbourne and I had been considering permanent makeup for some time & finally bit the bullet and booked in to have my eyebrows fixed 6 weeks ago. After so many years of plucking I virtually had nothing left just a few tufts of hair here and there.

I was sick of having to draw my eyebrows on every morning so I thought why not have them done permanently by a cosmetic tattooist.

It took about 1 1/2 hours for the first application & 1 hour for the second application 4 weeks later, no pain and the woman was really nice & she gave me a seniors discount too.

I am so happy that I have eyebrows again, they look great & I have even been asked if I have had a facelift ha-ha.

I have now booked in to have my lips done next week so I wont have to apply lipy each morning any more!

Cathyhn - I am speaking as a person who has three tattoos(all small, all tasteful) , and I agree that the eyebrow tattooing can work out very well. However I have seen some results of lip tattooing and I must warn you - the lip tattoo is just the lipline, and when you are not wearing lippy, it looks very strange indeed - did they tell you that? You still have to apply lipstick to fill in. If your lips are naturally pale they can look pretty weird with a permanent bright red line around them. I do know a couple of women who have been very disappointed with the results.

I realise you are keen to have it done but try Googling "lipline tattoo" and see some images of the results - you might change your mind.

The eyeliner tattoo also can look weird particularly as you age. The only one that really looks ok is the eyebrow one.

Good on you and welcome! I say do anything you want as long as you hurt noone.

Congratulations on your great new look and I am sure you are looking forward to having your lips done.

There is a really scary image in this gallery of an elderly woman who has had it done, it looks awful. Sorry.

If I were to have anything "done", I would have the verandahs over my eyes removed, a cord running from my boobs to my shoulders, just to lift and correct the alignment. As for tattoos - no, not ever - for any reason! I hate needles!!

Noooo Lipline is just one option, you can also have a lipline & blend or full lip as well (all different).

I have seen lots of pictures of the results & realise that the important thing is to make sure that the person you go to knows what they are doing & select a colour that is just a few shades different to your natural lip colour.

Its a bit like lipstick, some women select awful colours that do not suit their skin or face, but if you pick a natural looking shade that compliments your skin and face it looks nice.

Most of the pictures that I saw you would not know that they had permanent makeup, some look like subtle makeup & others look just like natural lip colour.

Important to pick the right service just like anything else!

bevg, your post gave me a giggle, especially with the bit about the string,i reckon thats what i could do with now all my "bits"are heading south.

miss jacinta,i've just looked at that pic of the lips,it looks terrible and to think someone paid big bucks to look like that,no thanks!!!!

Wendy I guess you would need to see the before picture to know if it looked better or worse lol

But it is very uneven compared to the pictures that I have seen, bad colour choice too.

How about this one?

Kind of strange that the site lists all those pictures with the peoples names like that

That would be enough for me to avoid, I like my privacy way to much.

Where I go the lady does not put her clients pictures online like that & you sign to say if your pictures can even be shown to other clients (when in her salon) or not.

This is where I am getting my work done

Cosmetic Tattooing - Seniors Discount

I will let you know how my Lipline and blend goes, I have almost lost my natural lipline now so its hard to tell where my face ends and my lips begin lol

Hi girls. I really love this!! It was starting out to be a boring day. The color of lip tatoos!!! I love it.

Hey girls - thought we could walk around in the buff in here!

if we want to! but

Mr. Innes is interested in make--up it seems???

Phyl, But I am walking around here in the buff. What seems to be the prob???

Well, good luck whatever you have, cathyhn. I wear several different coloured lipsticks so I will stick with what I was given by nature - but then I was fortunate in the lip dept at least,I have a very defined, deep coloured mouth. I never wear bright coloured lipsticks now as they are very ageing - I stick to more subdued browns, rusts and natural colours. I do think that many mature women make mistakes in the make-up dept, wearing colours that are too hard and too bright.

Innes - too much information; are you really buff, or are you sort of mottled?

Came out great im very happy, my lip colour looked quite dark for a few days and then they turned into the colour that that I wanted. Looks as though I just have a subtle lipstick on or maybe even as its just my normal lip colour. My lips look even now too.

Might consider eye-liner later in the year once i have saved up

Good for you cathyhn and I am sure it looks perfek as Pop says in the Darling Buds of May :)

and even it it looked terrible if it makes YOU happy good on you.

I sometimes think eyeliner makes people look older than they are but that also is a matter of choice and if you look good with eyeliner it will probably once again be perfek.

All the best

Phyl.
