Rolling Stones tour postponed as Jagger falls ill

The Rolling Stones have postponed the North American leg of their US tour because Mick Jagger is sick.

According to the announcement on Saturday, Mick Jagger “has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment.

“The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible”.

The No Filter tour had been scheduled to kick off in Miami on April 20.

An unnamed source told Variety that the tour is expected to resume in three months and that Jagger was “not bed-ridden”.

Jagger said in a statement: “I hate letting our fans down and I’m hugely disappointed to have to postpone the tour but am looking forward to getting back on stage as soon as I can”.

Mick has stood the test of time..a clear indication that age does not matter and you can continue your career well into your later years.

I wish him well and hope he recovers to give another concert..

Never really a fan early on but I have learned to appreciate their style of music and a lot of it is quite "interesting". Rock on , Mick.

Sir Mick Jagger, who follows a strict diet and fitness regime, said he was “devastated” to let down the band’s fans after he had to postpone the North American leg of their tour on doctor’s orders.

Good ol Mick, he just keeps on keeping on, yes he does live by a strict diet and fitness regime, like to know what he does eat because he has a lot of energy, must eat a lot of spinach I reckon.

Nah, not spinach, just looks like spinach LOL

Whenever poor old Mick travels, he still has to go into a separate room at the airport to be checked out, due to his past drug offences.

Mick Jagger’s shrimp curry recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 large onion
Ghee (clarified butter) or oil
Mild Madras curry powder
Fresh bay leaves
Coconut cream diluted with ½ pint boiling water
Garam masala
Fresh coriander
Fresh lime
Fresh small peeled prawns, about 2 ounces per person

METHOD

Chop the onion and fry in the ghee or oil until the onion is translucent.
Add Madras curry powder (1 – 2 teaspoons) to suit your tastes
Add bay leaf (two if they are small)
Add coconout cream
Add the garam masala,a generous handful of chopped coriander and the juice of half the lime
Add the prawns, heat and serve

That explains why he has a heart problem, all the fat in the diet.

You are right musicveg, so much for his chef.

Adrianus, your dry humour is not entirely lost on the forum ;)

Why the big secret about his illness? I have been wondering if it is prostate cancer which would take about 3 months to recover from if he (a) has an op or (b) has radiotherapy. If that is the problem I don’t know why he would keep it a secret because publicity would be advantageous for men. Whatever it is, I wish him well.

Maybe has to undergo heart surgery??

The US website Drudge Report, citing unidentified sources, said Jagger, 75, would undergo surgery this week in New York to replace a heart valve. New York Post's Page Six website, citing unidentified sources, said the surgery would involve placing a stent in the singer's heart.

Representatives for Jagger in the United States did not return requests for comment. A spokesman for the British band in London declined to comment on the Drudge Report article.

All the best Mick. Like your classic ...

"Don't Tear Me Up"

I still don’t understand why he would keep it a secret. We age, things happen, why hide such health difficulty?

Not exactly a secret from what I've read.

However I do concur that he hasn't confirmed the rumours personally according to his Twitter account. More on RS Twitter feed.

Mick Jagger will undergo surgery to replace a valve in his heart, Rolling Stone confirmed. As a result of the procedure and recovery period, the Rolling Stones postponed the North American leg of their No Filter tour, which ran from April 20th to July 29th.

Thanks for that RnR. I googled yesterday and could find nothing written about the problem, seemed to be all hush hush. Sounds like his news media is being more candid now and why not?

WILL have to send our FOXY to nurse him,    she knows all his music,   could sing along with him,    but GET BETTER   soon MICK,      has a lot of fans,

Are you nuts? what would he do with an 80 year old pensioner when he's got a bevy of beautiful stupid young girls at his disposal???

ARE you nuts ABE?    you obviosly have no sense of humour,     and judging by the few posts i have read,   you and your ilk are still trplling madly,   at everyone and everything,      dont you ever let up,     you should be reported for the way you hound TWILA,

Keep us posted. I was looking forward to seeing jumpin jack flash.

Geez these girls must like wrinkly things. Sorry Mick, I know he probably has a good heart.

I think Mick's getting the better deal Reagan. Got to hand it to him, no short, fat, women for him.

How many old rich ladies do you here about with young handsome skinny men? What would people say about that? Cougar is what they call those ladies, men don't get the name calling, strange that.

Yup, they do have a name for those men. It's "lucky", hahaha
