Saving on the cost of Vinegar

To save on Vinegar costs. Buy a quality Vinegar and put half in another bottle and then top up with water and leave for 6 weeks. Viola you have doubled your vinegar. You can then split it in half again and make 2 more bottles. Great for when you are making pickles etc. Has to be a fermented vinegar not the really cheap ones.

Thank you for that hint :) I have always used Skipping Girl for the table and the big cheap bottles to kill weeds :)

I will go out now and do as you suggest with the Skipping girl of course lol

Phyl.

Wine, bottle already opened and left for a long time will turn into vinegar.

How long depends on the wine, temperature etc.

Sooo, if wine tastes off, don't throw it way.

Cheap vinegars like Coles brand are so acidic propably from some kind of

cheap alcohol. I use them for cleaning and washing veggis

(couple of spoons in a bowl of water)

A large container of generic vinegar has a permanent spot in the pantry.

Add one cup to final rinse..removes all trace of soap from wash.

Sluggish drains.

Can be cleared with half a cup of bi-carb followed by half a cup of vinegar.

Plug the sink for a while, then run hot water through for a couple of minutes.
