Senators vote NO to a wage freeze for themselves

Well, no surprises here.  Only 6 of the 75 Senators voted Yes to a wage freeze until budget back in surplus.

Bernardi, Leonjhelm One Nation and Jacqui Lambi...were the six Yes voters.

Labor, Liberals and Greens all voted NO.

Everyone else has to rein in their belts but none of them!!  They disgust me.

I dont understand how the system allows for one to vote for ones own pay increases

Wish I had a jobs like that where I could vote for my own pay rise ever year

In what other profession do we reward incompetence, stupidity and laziness with a performance review only once every four years  at election time. Our politicians are making themselves a class apart from ordinary Australians where rules, values and work expectations dont apply to them. I see that some also want to change the rules so they can access their super at age 55. You or I ant do that.

Have to ask this question?

How many times have you seen all the Senate seating full?

Not many......we were talking tonight about it....there for all to see on tv was the Senate and hardly anyone in there working.

No wonder the public doesn't have much respect for them, ok so they have committees, but surely they should be in the Chamber when things are being discussed.

No one will ever convince me that the prime motivation for a great many politicians is the generous superannuation package and lurks and perks along the way.

Was reading today that the Labor politician caught with his snout in the trout to the tune of over $100K has resigned from the party and is sitting on the back bench as an Independent and is NOT going to pay back the money.

I hope he is charged!!

if the union bosses who bribe their labor pollies can get away stealing from its members, why npot labor politicians ripping off the taxpayer

its ingrained in their socialist thinking
