Should we implement labor party policies

Labor party introduced the "White Australia Poilcy"

The labor party represents the unions .

The unions represent less than 10 per cent of workers .

The Labor party manifesto unlike its UK counterpart still calls for Government  ownership of production and distribution. Ie communism .

The White Australia Policy was a very good thing for the nation's economy at the time it was introduced, and it had social benefits. Times change, and so do standards of judgement.

On the other three points, I might be tempted to agree. But the LNP has proved a disaster for the economy and society. I just wish there were a party worth voting for.

Recently, while I was working in the flower beds in the front yard, my neighbors stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their dog. During our friendly conversation, I asked their little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said she wanted to be Prime Minister someday. Both of her parents, Labor Party members, were standing there so I asked her, "If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?"
She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people." Her parents beamed with pride!

"Wow, what a worthy goal!" I said,  "But you don't have to wait until you're Prime Minister to do that!"

"What do you mean?" she replied

So I told her, "You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and trim my hedge, and I'll pay you $50. Then you can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Liberal Party."

Her parents aren't speaking to me anymore.

Good one Raphael -- isn't it strange how anyone with  ANY empathy is always called a Leftie

The way Turnbull is carrying on and if you believe the polls are anywhere near correct, with many deserting the LNP ranks and the electorate's utter dislike of Turnbull, we may have no choice but to accept Labor policy as Shorten is odds-on to get the keys to the Lodge at the next election.

God help us . Back to the 50s higher Tax's and higher Govt spending . Entrepreneurs leaving this time not by boat but by plane .

"The issue is particularly pointed for Telstra and Optus, which between them control more than 60 per cent of all NBN connections, because they are being paid $9.8 billion of taxpayer funds — $1400 a customer — up to 2020 in compensation for customers migrating from their cable networks.

The NBN Co bandwidth charges are high by international comparisons because the network is using the charges to make repayments and a return on the federal government’s $49bn NBN investment.

Mr Ivereigh said beyond the current “land grab” it was also very difficult for telcos to charge more for NBN connections because customers were used to paying low prices for ADSL and because, historically, technology and telephony charges had gone down, not up.

Regardless, in order to fund the massive cost of the NBN, charges would have to rise.

“There is no question to get the internet over the NBN will eventually end up costing more than it did under ADSL, the $50bn has to come from somewhere,” Mr Ivereigh said.

Both major telcos said the money they received for NBN connections was compensation for the federal government taking control of their expensive high-speed internet cable networks in each of the capital cities, except for Darwin and Hobart.

All existing networks and telephone lines are shut down within 18 months of the NBN being available in an area."

Notes from Australian article today date

We the taxpayers are paying billions to Telcos to close down their networks so they won't compete with a Govt monopololy that will cost more and give poorer service .

Labor party bring you once more socialism , they will continue to spend other people's money until it runs out .
