Simple tip to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich

All you do is add an ingredient to the outside of the sandwich to make it super crispy and a little cheesier. 

Simply add a tablespoon of grated Parmesan to a tablespoon of butter (or more if you're so inclined – the recipe on brit.co calls for two tablespoons of each, but that might be a bit much for some)

Then you spread the mixture on both slices of bread – these will be the outside of your sandwich.

Then fill your sandwich as you normally would and cook as usual. You'll get a super crispy and extra tasty grilled cheese toastie!

But not quite on my list of foods that I partake in.... possibly in my younger age ..... like some 70 years ago  :)

I asked for a Toasted Cheese sandwich at a Cafe near my place. It came back looking like somebody had sat on it. The cheese was like plastic and I think they forget to know how to toast the bread. It was an Asian cafe so maybe they don't know how to make it. The cheese toastie in the photo looks delicious.

I think this would be on almost everyone's list of foods to steer clear of.

However, I get the feeling that many people here do not understand what is a treat to consume once in a while, and what is everyday food.

I have elevated cholestrol and take medication to control it.  My doctor does not proscibe what I should and should not eat.  He does however, give me guidelines, and leaves it up to me to use my common sense.  Through diet and exercise, I have reduced my ratio numbers significantly.  So doc is happy.

His reasoning is simple, if you don't have the occasional treat - in moderation - you will never stick to any diet.  Basically a carrot and stick approach, eat good things the majority of the time, and as a reward you can have a treat now and again.

Life is too short to go without something you enjoy once in awhile.  You're a long time dead as the saying goes.

Agree! Have you noticed the faces of those people who miss out on treats? They always look miserable and gaunt.
