It is all very well to suggest covid-19 is leading to better communication via the internet etc., but at 81 years of age and with no-one to teach me, my computer literacy is very limited. Where do I go from here?  Pete

In NSW they hold computer classes in Libraries but unfortunately currently they are closed

Which state are you in ?

if you can get a hold of the manual for the device you are using

whether it be computer/phone/tablet there would be instructions on how to use them

Australians will now be able to access up-to-date official information through a new federal government app.

The free app, along with a new government WhatsApp feature, will allow for people to get the latest information on the number of cases in Australia, along with news on restrictions and travel bans.

The apps are available for free through the App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices.

To activate the Whatsapp channel, users have been told to visit aus.gov.au/whatsapp to launch the new feature.

Thats a hard call as I feel most people need someone looking over their shoulder!

Some great answers here.  Perhaps if I could suggest that Pete starts with specific individual smaller style questions that he encounters along the way.  Starting with one that is of greatest and more immediate concern.  Then in an incremental way maybe progress can be made that way which helps him and others may learn new stuff also.
