The ABC and taxpayers'money.
I really can't comprehend anyone complaining about the freeze (not a cut)on taxpayers'money for the ABC.
Especially when this claim is made: "" ABC news director Gaven Morris warned the national broadcaster was as lean as it could be.""
""THE ABC’s highest paid staff can expect to receive up to $4.5 million in taxpayer-funded bonuses this year.
The figure, revealed by a senior ABC executive, comes after it was revealed staff at the public broadcaster were paid $2.6 million in bonuses in 2016-17.
Appearing at a Senate estimates hearing, the ABC’s chief financial officer Louise Higgins said she would expect bonuses for executive and non-executive staff to total about $4.5 million this financial year, but cautioned this number could change."

""According to its annual report, the ABC spent more than $10m on market research and promotion, and $1.54m on consultants in 2016-17.""
............................................................................
""Consultancy firm Trevor-Roberts Associates was paid $64,950 to give career advice on redundancies, while McGees Property was paid $217,118 for property valuation and advice. A number of others were paid up to $178,750 for “strategic advice”. """

The ABC is important for Austrailian democracy. It ain't perfect but along with SBS is provides reasonable news and public affairs programs.
The unremitting attacks on the ABC by certain powerful publications and politicians over the past 25 years is genuinely frightening for me.
Australian public broadcasting is a precious thing, we should be careful with it
