The pendulum swings

Who would ever have guessed?   The hypocrisy is astounding.

"Bill Shorten left a Comcar driver waiting in a carpark all day while he attended the most exclusive party at the Melbourne Cup last year, racking up a $1013 bill, adding to his prolific use of the government car service.

The Labor leader, who last month ridiculed government ministers for driving in their “white cars”, outspent all of them in his own taxpayer-funded white car, according to the latest parliamentary expenses update.

Mr Shorten had an AFP security detail on the day he attended the Melbourne Cup and his chauffeur-driven commonwealth vehicle was unable to leave while he and wife Chloe partied in the Birdcage, a string of invite-only venues sponsored by major brands and corporations.

In five months, he spent almost $40,000 on Comcar travel. Malcolm Turnbull spent just over $21,000 in the same period."

""Mr Shorten outspent every government minister — with the highest government charge for Health Minister Greg Hunt, at almost $30,000. Mr Shorten outspent half of the ministers by four times.""

Talk about rorting the system, why are politicians and i believe some government employees able to claim there pension and work, why are they not subject to Centrelink like the rest of us

Would you really like to see Mal and Bill footing it to centrelink??

defiitely we are all one people, they should be subject to the same rules as everyone else

The pollies have a very generous super scheme.  It's been drawn back a little since around 2004 (I think), but it is still a ticket to the gravy train, especially for those elected before then.

Pulled back ??? Just reshuffled

PRIME Minister Julia Gillards salary soared 90000 to about 470000, making her more highly paid than US President Barack Obama and British PM David Cameron.

KEVIN RUDD $200,000 pension plus estimated $300,000-a-year office and travel costs. JULIA GILLARD $200,000 pension plus estimated $300,000-a-year office and travel costs  .... not bad after one year term as PM

Current Prime Ministerial salary is $527,852.

.........is she worth this money?   I think not!

Absolutely shocking display of greed by Gillard. A massive pay increase and then stays 3 days over the prescribed 3 year term to qualify for a massive pension based on her salary. Not a word from the lefties on here LOL!! Hand out the WD40.
