The Queen's birthday Awards

I am surprised there has been no mention here of the Queen's birthday awards-- unless I have missed it.

Past genuine worthy recipients must be thinking how worthless it has become with the laughable awards to staunch Republicans who dislike the Monarchy but will still accept the award and ex-politicians who are still being well paid, if not over-paid, who are responsible for the mess this country is currently in also belittles it. I will never come close to getting an award because I would tell them to place it where the sun dont shine

Rosie Batty, Ita Buttrose and Natasha Stott Despoja were awarded the Order of Australia (AO) in the Queen's Birthday Honours this year.

Rosie Batty?  Seriously?

Why do we have a monarch ?
