Ticketek doesn't know who Bob Dylan is

It appears as though Ticketek may never have heard about Bob Dylan or have any idea about his music. How is that possible?

Suze. Would you consider Bob Dylan a crooner?

For me the best of the best crooners is Perry Como with his style of warm, smooth, easy-listening

.... such a beautiful voice Related image

There is no comparison between Perry Como and Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan is starting to look more like Salvador Dali these days with that moustache.

:) New directions for Bob.

Bob Dylan triples down on his late-career reinvention as a crooner

And an article from the Telegraph UK.

Bob Dylan should stop crooning and get back to writing songs

Bob Dylan’s 38th official studio album is his first triple set of an extraordinary career that has stretched the possibilities of language and music so wide he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Before we get too excited, however, let it be known Triplicate (released March 2017) comprises three discs, thirty songs and 95 minutes of a 75-year-old man croaking his way through cover versions of vintage swing and jazz era show tunes, presumably leftovers from two previous albums of Sinatra-influenced sessions. It is not for the fainthearted.

When I met Dylan’s manager at a playback, I quizzed him about why Dylan was making these records. “Who knows?” admitted a man who presumably works with Dylan closer than most. “Bob’s a mystery. But he has earned the right to do whatever he wants.”

I totally agree with the Telegraph UK saying "It's 95 minutes of a 75 year old man croaking his way through cover versions of vintage swing and jazz era tunes. It is not for the fainthearted".  Bob Dylan should stick to writing instead. He sounds like a fog-horn in a thick pea-souper. I would never buy any of his records.

I have a doctorate in music composition. Bob Dylan has to be one of the most overrated musicians of all time! Though his lyrics have some substance, perhaps, the music he produces is simplistic cliched garbage.

Just goes to show, even with a doctorate, you can still know nothing! Dylan is up there with Leonard Cohen.

I was there at the stadium in 1966

Toot

So what is your opinion of the performance that you saw in 1966  Related image

It was a long time ago Suze, but what I can remember is that it was fantastic to hear him sing all the hits of the day that we loved, he sure was a cool dude back then.

Unlike Janice Ian's concert, she didn't sing one of her hit songs, so it was very disappointing.

Peter Allan was fantastic as well.

I saw Peter Allan in concert.  He was indeed fantastic.  I won the tickets, from our local radio station, along with a 'best of' album, a signed photograph, and .... wait for it - a pair of maracas. LOL

I had never really been that big a fan but rather liked "Rio".  When I entered the competition I thought I was just getting that record. When he was part of the Allan Brothers I thought they were ok, but nothing to write home about.

Then, when I won the tickets to the show as well as the record (and all the merchandise) I thought "Why not".

I went to the concert and became a fan for life.

Not such a big fan of Dylan either.  I wonder if that would have changed if I ever went to one of his concerts.  My guess is - Yes.  Not now though.  I've gone to a few 'aging' rocker concerts.  They always turn out to be a disappointment.

LEONNIE,   i saw PETER ALLEN at the PLAYHOUSE THEATRE ,  at the arts center,    a great entertainer,    i never saw BOB DYLAN 'live;    but liked some of his earlier work,    dont think id listen to him now,    he never had the greatest voice,   cant see that it would have improved with age,
