Trump keeps Turnbull waiting

Donald Trump has kept Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull waiting in New York as the President sees his repeal of Obamacare pass its first hurdle in Washington.

The President and the Prime Minister were supposed to meet between 6 am and 9 am AEST, however, developments in Washington mean that Malcolm Turnbull has been left to cool his heels in New York.

By just one vote, the American Health Care Act (AHCA) passed in the US House of Representatives and will now head to the Senate.

The delay could mean that the leaders may only have 30 minutes to discuss the burning issues facing the two countries.

Do you think that Malcolm should turn on his heels and head home?

... lol lol lol - what a lot of "who shot John" comments from people on here who can barely cook an egg for their dinner!!!    lol lol lol

Trump was busyyyyyyyyy ......had more pressing commitments -  Turnbull is not his biggest priority right now!

(awaiting the "backlash" - lol lol lol )

Totally agree ppl will do anything to run trump down

I am not a Trump fan but I think it is all a storm in a teacup.  No big deal at all;  it would be churlish of Malcom to turn on his heels...he is bigger than that!

No resemblance at all obviously. Cheers Banjo. Onwards and upwards.

Last  word on this. You will notice the top picture has "Reuters" trademark on the left hand corner. I am sure you have heard of "Reutersgate". There is a certain photographer at Reuters one Adnan Hajj who takes pleasure in digitally misrepresenting pictures. He might be without a job soon.

The bottom picture is from a video by the White HOuse.

Yes a big difference exists, but you can battle it out with yourself.

:) Might leave it to the majestic Reuters (established October 1851) and the White House (construction started October 13, 1792) to sort out thanks Banjo.

Just goes to show how one frame, taken out of context,  from 2 slightly different angles by 2 different photographers and slightly different heights with no Photoshopping can be used to make "conspiracy theories".

Poor Malcolm I hope his clenched fist pose won't continue to be used, out of context, to denote him in the wrong light.

My comments were entirely NOT about Anns picture. I merely said, "GoodPhoto" Anne. The rest was my thoughts on our position in this global atmosphere.

How disrespectful.

Australia is a small fish in the eyes of Trump.

No balls Turnball should have turned around and left a message - to contact my PA for a new appointment next time you're in Oz.

There are some very odd comments on here ,

If you don't think the allies should stick together what is the alternative .

The Crime Miniscule from austraia?  Now why in hell would the President want to meet the Prime Miniuscule of Austria?  Reagan already did that.... didn' he?

I see.   So you want our prime minister yo show the same extremely bad manners and attitude that Dinald Trump does?    No!

someone has to be a bigger person.   You must have diplomacy, tact and, a very thick skin, to do their jobs.     How do you think the world can possibly get on if everyone just " picks up their ball and goes home".    Like a sulky child!   Very mature in a statesman I must say!

at least Makvolm Turnbull looks like a statesman - Yrump looks like what he is - a spoilt brat!   No breeding, no manners, no diplomacy or tact ( and acts as if he doesn't care to get any) .   Great in a world leader ( so he thinks!).  I don't think so

Glad you said it three times, because I agree with you three times too !!

WE DONT LIKE THIS FORMAT. CAN WE HAVE THE OLD METHOD OF POSTING COMMENTS, RETURNED.

I can't remember what the "old method" looked like...

Would be nice to have a button to filter one's posts...

The site is slow so if your comment, Funny Face,  doesn't come up immediately patience pays off no extra clicking on the post reply button or else you get repeat posts. Very frustrating I agree.

Boof, if you came to this topic via the Newsletter, then this is not the Forum you are used to.  There are 2 Forums on YLC.

The other Forum is different to this one.  Sometimes they put a topic on the Newsletter that uses this Forum rather than the other one.

I have a feeling that they are gradually getting people used to this Forum to combine them both into one.

Probably right Sandi, this one does have the ability to post pictures which the other one doesn't.

To be fair, Trump had an important campaign promise to usher through parliament,  so was unable to make the appointment on time.  However, surely he could have afforded a little more than 30 minutes considering the wait Turnbull had endured.  Very little can be achieved in such a short time.  I don't really care too much for either of them!
