Turnbull ride nearly over?

malcolm turnbull

Will the unstoppable attack finally start on Monday?  Scott Morrison is due to deliver the Turnbull, mid year economic forcast & outlook report  on Monday.  It should be remembered that all the Members that made the move to support Turnbull, for their personal protection, are now gone, leaving Turnbull with a narrowly ruling Party made up of Liberal Conservatives, who owe their success to the Leader of the greatest political victory in Australia's history, Tony Abbott.  Party Conservatives, like George Christensen, have been conducting a rogue vendetta against Turnbull & would have been extremely pleased with Tony's radio interview with Ray Hadley yesterday.  I don't think that Tony can make it back, but note that Julie Bishop is quietly smiling in the background.  Tony may not have been our greatest PM, but he is in his element as the down trodden opposition, who was stupidly omitted from the Cabinet.  The sharks can smell blood.

I am not sure if Tony Abbott will be returned as PM  as much as i would like him to, the only alturnative i see is Peter Dutton. Turnbull is the biggest disapointment i have ever seenfor the Liberal party. He has the personality of a wet dooor mat more intersted in taking selfies of himself than listening to the voters of this country.Liberal and the Greens led Labor party will be hard pressed to make any gains in the next electionand there is a good chance Pauline Hanson will be out next PM. To save the Gov. Malcom Turnbull must resign due to ill health. Sa for Abbott being Australia's worse PM I remember the Whitlam ,Rudd, Gillard ,Rudd years.

You must be from Queensland.

Oi, steady on Barak. We've got enough rivalries on here, e.g. political, religious and racial ... without you turning it into a state of origin battle as well.

:) You must be from Victoria (apologies to Victoria).

Thanks Popeye ... yep, a lot of disappointments amongst our recent political leaders. For me personally, Tony Abbott is one of them.

I agree with you Tanwin and will vote in Pauline Hanson.  At least she's a people's politician.  She listens to our gripes and, as far as she can, acts on them.

She is certainly a serial candidate. From memory got a gig 20 years ago and the second time is this one because of the DD. Inbetween has tried many times. Peoples politician ?

Hanson is in it for the money. She totally populist but totally impractical polcies built on racial and religious hatred.

I do not want an Australia built around her philosophies.

True Pauline Hanson may not be PM material - yet anyway!  What you are missing is the fact she is reflecting quite a significant proportion of the electorate in response to the poor showing of the major parties.  Pauline Hanson has some very nationalistic ideas and Australia is long overdue for a bit of thinking about itself and not money-grubbing third world countries who can affort nuclear weapons but not food for the most needy.
Australia needs someone like Pauline Hanson to keep the major parties on-track and I believe her success has them concerned.  There is every chance at the next Qld election, One Nation will hold considerable power which will stop either of the major parties ruling the roost without opposition.
The real racists are people like you Barak who use racism as a weapon against anything you dislike ...... you have said not one thing to support your slur, which is typical of people like you.  Plenty of noise, not much production

what else do you expect of barak, sprouts his own racial hatred as long as it pull this country, AUSTRALIA, apart and undermine the true love most of us have for this great country of ours, he'll do anything to express his hate for this democratic elected country,  no I won't say deport him, I love him to be an inhabitant and find out what it is to live in a FREE COUNTRY

heemsy - the topic is Malcolm Turnbull, not Barak.

Reeper, how am I a racist? That makes no sense at all.

I find right wingers do that a lot. I make a rational criticism of them, and they throw the same one back at me. Clever!

Turnbull is not going anywhere. Think about it. Even the Libs realise it would be suicide to jump ship now. No one would seriously contemplate voting for them at the next election if they changed leaders now. Hanson? All those who say she says the right things etc. forget that she is a party of very few candidates. She would be unable to field enough capable educated people to win seats to form government. Remember her silly tax thing last time? Have you read her Party's platforms? Hastily cut and pasted right wing nonsense which would be impossible to implement.

Wait and see how the Trump of doom operates before you get on the bandwagon of someone other than politicians running the political system.

People think that there is always someone better ..looking for the white knight who will deliver what they want but how does that work when everyone wants something different..impossible to please everyone these days so pick pick pick at anyone who does not meet your needs/opinion.  So with social media one can criticize anoymously and in doing that it makes them feel better about themselves...a bit like chest beating if you think about it.  Why not give Malcolm a chance just because he is not your usual politician does this mean that he will not deliver.  His biggest problem is his own party and all of those who comment 'out of school' should be given the flick...

To me our biggest issue is the media with the way they hound politicians and it always amazes me how some reporters have the gall to comment on financial/environmental matters when in fact they lack the skill to even analyse a balance sheet let alone understand green house gases.  They become critical as it is easier for them to fill up the time slot with commentary and it seems to be the norm to comment unfavourably.  The trend set by the ABC.

Put anyone in Malcom's position and the same behaviour from the public would occur....you just cannot win and the lack of respect in our community is just frightful and rather sad.

What has happened to us?  Everyone is so cranky, critical and aggressive!

That would be the norm in an ideal world Jen but Turnbull promoted himself as a great communicator (and lets face it you wouldnt have to be very good to beat Abbott) then when people started to actually analise what he said it was just waffle and it got worse. He always wanted the top job, now he has it he doesnt know what to do and waffles on about a Republic as a smoke screen.

Turnbull has been there long enough to have accomplished something. Not everything can be blamed on the 'obstructionist' Senate. Interesting to note how his wife has inserted herself into everything

To compound things more with electricity prices set to leap, and our standard of living expected to drop, they have just given pay rises to all their 900 advisers and hanger-ons. Just more of do as I say not do as I do

Sadly I dont think the other mob has a clue either. Respect? Not I

This country needs a government that is more central.   Malcom tries to get away from the extremes of the likes of Bernadette and Christensen and a few others..

We need pollies Neither from the far right or the far left.

We need someone from the middle off the road  and that is Mr Turnbull.

The alternative suggested by those from the far right I Abbott.  remember what a disaster he was wen in charge.

We need someone to look after the average person and not to bow to the demands of big business.

Forget Mr Abbott as he wants to look  after Tony Abbott.

Meant Bernardi not Bernadette.

The Turdball government LOL

ONE FOLK ONE STATE ONE LEADER....mmmm where did I hear that from before?
