Very Very Easy Simple Program (free if possible) to make photos and short 2 minute videos into slide show/move

Hi there,

I use an Apple Mac.

I have photos of my daughter's wedding, and some two minutes videos taken by a friend. I'd like to combine them to make a movie/slide show with music.

I find iMovie difficult to get the photo where I want it and so time consuming...any other suggestions please....

Please note to keep it as simple as possible as I have a disability and just want to do this quickly and easily, effortless....if possible.

Surely there is a program out there...

Thanks,

Belinda

Try iPhoto.

Import your pics and video/s if they're not in there already. Two easy methods:

1. Select all your photos and video/s then go to the File Menu > New Slideshow.

2. Without anything selected go to the File Menu > New Slideshow, for a 'blank canvas'.

The name of your Slideshow appears in the left menu list.

Now you can click on it to edit:

Change photos/video position order using click and drag on the thumbnails up the top.

Choose the Music button down the bottom to select generic theme tunes or use the drop down in the dialogue box to get music from anywhere else on your machine, e.g. iTunes library.

Select themes to choose whatever transitions you would like between slides. I like Ken Burns best.

Use the T box that shows first in the thumbnails to add/change the title of your slideshow.

• Use the settings button down below to select slide times, etc.

You can also add photos later or to a blank slideshow by selecting the desired pics in your library and dragging them onto the title of the slideshow in the left menu.

NB: The first slide in my test show above is a video.

You can then export the slideshow in the resolution that best suits you.

Hoping this helps.

:) It's much easier than iMovie for slideshows.

Oh my goodness thank you so much. Will try today if vision allows. Carer turned up to shower me. Excited, thank you for your clear details. Really appreciated

PS: The slideshow exports as a movie.

Thank you so much. Great help, so clearly written.

Thank you,

Belinda

:) How did you go with the wedding project or is it on your 'to do' list?

Thanks for putting that up RnR ...should be of help to other Apple mac users.

I note people with ipad phones have difficulty posting pictures on this website ... any thoughts on this ???

Strangely they seem to have no problem with copy and paste ???

Sorry Abby ... haven't tried posting with the phone.

In regard to MW  snap for PC ..

All current Macs should come with the Grab application (located in /Applications/Utilities) which has that functionality....?

Also you can use QuickTime Player (in the Applications folder) to capture movies of your screen.

:) Thanks again for your info Abby ... much appreciated.

Normally I just use the MacOS keyboard shortcuts for screenshots.

Entire screen:
1. To capture, press Command-Shift-3.
2. To copy, press Command-Control-Shift-3.
Selected Portion of the screen(drag crosshairs to select):
1. To capture, press Command-Shift-4.
2. To copy, press Command-Control-Shift-4.

Quicktime Pro is handy as well (has a bit more functionality than the Player version).
