Wages for Sunday Penalty

I thought you would be interested in this story I found on MSN: Sunday penalty rates will be reduced for hospitality, retail staff, Fair Work Commission rules

I have friends in their late 80s one in their early 90s in South Carolina in the USA and they have part time work in the local Supermarket doing the food demos. I have not got a clue what they are paid, but I did say I cannot see that happening in Australia. I went on to ask why they did this, reply was petrol money!!!

I was even sent a photo of them in their white jackets and hair nets.

That is a side to the USA I never thought I would see.

Simple really Shorten as AWU leader eliminanatrd not cut penalty rates in exchange for money to AWU

As a minister he set up the tribulnal and stacked it with Union mates

He then instructed them to examine rates .

The guy is a fraud and is not worthy of any consideration .No wonder One Nation is gaining ground .

you might not agree with her but she is real

We now live in a 7 day society, I would happily work for normal rates on weekends and public holidays so that those folk who dislike their 'free time' being interrupted  could have more of it .... many unemployed would probably do the same,  unfortunately, altho' i'm physically fit and able... I'm deemed too old .... how many diplomas or level of education does one need to stack shelves or just wait on tanles etc ... peop;e are too greedy these days and think only of their material WANTS instead of being content with what they actually NEED( imo)

Banning penalty rates and giving jobs to unemployed folk would be a boon to small companies and enable them to continue to operate here in Aus.

I entirely agree . Geof Kennett was correct 35 hour week no matter when it is worked anything else at overtime rates .

the recent Shorten inspired changes are so minuscule as to be useless .

Did you see John Howard in the news today?  Needing Police protection from the Unions....

Yes it didn't seem to bother him .

The CFMEU is not even affected by the Sunday decision .

typical thuggery from unions

shameful
