RnR,
I have a first edition of Poems of Henry Kendall, signed by his son. I like Kendall poor twisted bugger that he was, Lawson for much the same reason.
The Willy the Shake is a Folio Edition, 8 Volumes, mint condition as it aint ever been touched by human hands except me and I only just scrape through on the Human.
I have a few Folio collections. One that is a marvel to me, the Folio Pax Brittanica three volume set.
What a marvellous read that is.
I have dealt a lot with ABE and Marlowes, library sales have also produced some gems.
I knew an old bloke in recent times, in his nineties and a widower. He was telling me how he missed out on active service in WW2 as he was a qualified machinist. He worked for Napier as I recall an Engine Manufacturer in the UK and they would not release him for service. He talked about his time at Napier as an apprentice etc with affection.
I went on line when I got home and found a book on the Napier factory via ABE in an obscure little bookshop in Scotland. I cannot recall when it was printed but back a bit and was a history of Napier.
I bought it at little cost and had it within a week or so. It was or had been signed by one of the Napier family as I remember.
I gave it to the old bloke, thought he was going to cry, it was as though I had given him the crown jewels. What a marvelous thing the internet is. I would have never found that book any other way.
Yes I will have sort out, some will never go until I do. Thanks for the heads up on those other sellers.
Take it easy.
