What do you think of Tinder?
Fifteen per cent of Australians regularly use the online blind-dating app. That number equates 3.5 million people, swiping 50 million times a day. Per capita, Australians are now the biggest users of Tinder in the world. Big numbers, considering it was only launched in Australia two years ago.
If you don’t know what Tinder is, it’s an online blind-dating app that reduces the chances of rejection by matching people who like each other. Users scroll through pictures of other members within the same vicinity and swipe one way on their phone when to pick the ones they like. If the person you ‘like-swiped’ likes you too, then you can start chatting and potentially meet up with them.
What do you think of Tinder? Do you think it’s a good idea or do you prefer the classic act of courting? Have you, or do you know anyone, who has used Tinder? How do you think this will this affect future generations when it comes to social engagement?
Thought tinder was something used for lighting a fire. Nah mate, prefer the old fashioned eyes meeting across a crowded room, some enchanted evening sorta thing. Besides my wife won't let me use this app!!
