The Meeting Place

What made you SMILE :-) ...today??

This topic came to mind just a few minutes ago (Wed. 5th. March 9.45am) when I opened an email from Woolworths Online Shopping that was headed 'We have a Birthday surprise just for you" ! My birthday is not til the long-weekend...but hey - doesn't matter....

Woolies have given me a large "Birthday" chocolate mud-cake FREE and $10 OFF my next online order!  Excellent PR obviously but made me SMILE........  :-)

Kinda makes up for me "bagging" them on that particular topic lol .........so I thought - there probably is "something" that does make us smile daily but we just don't recognise it as we too busy being "pissed off"!

Let's try and have a "Smile a Day".................  :-)

Fantastic little foxes! Enchanting images capture a glimpse into the lives of wild foxes and their adorable cubs in Finland  Enchanting images capture a glimpse into the lives of wild foxes and their adorable cubs

These enchanting images of foxes were captured in a forest in Finland, by a wildlife photographer who spent months gaining the animals' trust in order to capture them in their natural habitat. Student Ossi Saarinen photographs include stunning shots of the foxes frolicking in rays of sunshine which pierce through the trees of the Sipoonkorpi forest. The two cubs pictured right are waiting for their mother to return. One is captured curled up sleeping in a straw nest, inset, while the fox pictured right is shown in all its beauty as it stares at the camera. 'I especially I like photographing young foxes as they are so cute and their facial expressions are sometimes very funny which somehow make them a bit like humans,' he said.

Love the babies :))

Any baby animal is enchanting.  {:-)

Fearless tourist lets leopard get far too close to him  http://a.msn.com/09/en-au/AAxkMo0?ocid=se

Celia - What an amazing story, I would have been petrified if it got that close to me. My Dad use to tell us a story about when he was a young lad living in India. It seems one of his friend's father had a young tiger which he was raising because the mother had been shot. He said all went well for a number of months. The tiger would sleep at the end of the man's bed in his tent. One day the Father had a cut on his hand and he awoke to find the tiger licking his hand. He immediately got up and decided to release  the tiger, because once they taste human blood, you can't trust them ever again.

Gosh that is a story one could not forget Hola.

Do you know what happened to the tiger in the end?

No Celia. All Dad said was the young Tiger was taken by the boy's father onto his truck and driven a long way into the bush and released. Knowing what it was like in those days, when shooting tigers was considered a 'sport", I would think the poor animal's days were numbered.

i had a smile on last nights news,    they were selling condoms with the royal couples face on them,    by saturday night  none were left,   the shops had sold out,     someone was obviosly going to celebrate, lol,

Serbian soccer team Red Star Belgrade set fire to their own team bus during a victory parade.

:) We all know soccer celebrations can be a little over the top at times.

One of the players on the team’s open-top bus snaking through the city unwittingly set an oil spill alight with a celebratory flare, sparking a fire that dramatically engulfed the vehicle, forcing the team on to the streets among thousands of fans, while fire crews tackled the blaze.

The team were travelling from the club's home stadium to the north of the city on a victory parade after claiming the title with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Vozdovac.

Everyone disembarked the bus to safety and the celebrations continued as the emergency services did their job.

Source.

Could have been tragic … wasn’t … and did bring a smile to my face.

Flare on soccer fans.

Hope they got the dumb and dumber award

.... BIGGGG SMILE ..........  :-):-)

.... the Racoon in Minnesota U.S.A. who was scared out of the park it lived in and found itself clinging to a 25 storey building!  Starting on the lower level - the Racoon climbed storey by storey (resting on window ledges)  as people around the "world" watched on in horror on their iphones and other technology.........also "beamed" by U.S. TV channels .......

22 storeys up - it was exhausted and getting weaker ....the wind almost blowing it off the ledges......people scambled to think/find ways of helping to save it ........ no one could reach it ......finally with big dishes of cat food on the rooftop of the building ...the Racoon (after resting) managed to climb up the other 3 floors to safety and eat!!!

Released back into the wild ....... a wonderful "feel good" story ........

Video's are on YouTube....................... (one day I will learn to put links up - lol lol)

He is a social media STAR
