What really goes into a jar of Nutella?
Do you know what goes into your packaged food? Everybody’s favourite spread has a dark secret. The graphic below breaks down the quantities of every ingredient contained in a jar of Nutella – and it’s not pretty.
About a quarter of the hazelnut spread is made of undesirable palm oil, a substance could be carcinogenic and that is often unethically sourced. Most shockingly, nearly half the jar is pure sugar.
One serving (37 grams or two tablespoons) equals 21 grams of sugar. To put that in perspective, the American Heart Association recommends no more than six teaspoons (24g) for women, and nine (36g) for men, daily (unfortunatley we can't find this info for Australians).
If you eat Nutella, would this information make you put the spoon back in the drawer?

I must say I have only just tasted Nutella a few weeks ago. I thought it was very sweet and now I know why, 21 grams of suger. Yuk. Have never been tempted to buy a jar. Poor children whose mother's buy it for them and then smother their toast with it.
