When is there going to be a serious crackdown on these thugs??

"FESTIVAL goers in Melbourne’s west were punched and kicked, and had phones, wallets and bags stolen, as a gang of up to 40 youths terrorised an event in Melbourne’s west on Saturday night.

Crowds at the Summersault Festival in Caroline Springs estimated about 30 to 40 teenagers of African descent went on a rampage through the event grounds about 10pm, as families gathered to watch the fireworks.

Jack McLaughlin, 16, was hospitalised after being jumped on and punched by a group, before his phone was stolen."

Lower the age from 18 to 16 ...these are not children;  they know right from wrong.

Hey Foxy havent you noticed the weight dropping off those people in the jungle. If they were getting 5 star meals when the cameras are not rolling they would be looking at least the same weight they went in there with.

I honestly believe they are only getting beans rice ,porridge unless they win the challenges.  Call me naive but I do think so.   Tom Arnold was hungry all the time and he was darn glad to get out  LOL.

Don't you think there comes a time when unruly teenagers should be made Wards of the Court if their parents cannot manage and love them?

Yes, I agree...there is no alternative is there if parents dont want them and are incapable of looking after them for one reason or another.

The problem is finding foster homes for children.  A fact of life that due to the behaviour of many of these children who would want to take it on.

the trouble is ,  making them wards of the state means someone has to be responsible for them,   who?     no one wants that job,     thats where the boot camps would come in,

RADISH,   i do believe they have to live on those rations,     like you,  i have noticed the difference in there apperance, look at STEVE PRICE,    his pants are falling off,   i would think if anyone was really suffering they may get some hydrolytes or something like that,  but by and large i think that is all they get,     remember they get the extras from the tucker trials,  so its not all rice and beans,     thi s new one that has gone in,   that squeals like a baby ,  proves one thing,    you dont need brains to go the BATCHOLOR,    LOL,  where she is so fond of telling anyone that will listen she was on,   lol, lol,

Cats I notice that Tegan (who was very slim to start off with) is really losing weight.  Tziporah and Casey...quite noticeable weight loss there.

RADISH,   did you see on tonights program that JAY,   who was eliminated lost about 4 stone,    so definetly think they are on a restricted diet,

RADISH,   hadnt noticed TEGAN so much,    but CASEY and TZIPORAH,      definatly,    it is an endurance test,    i said to my daughter,    if it was up to me,   the poor devils would starve,    i COULD NOT go near snakes,   as for eating those disgusting things,   noooooo,    but that is part of the test,    would you do these things,    or let your fellows starve,   ?    what would you do for your fellow man,

Catsahoy I think that is the drugs that they consume is what is the problem, one has to ask how do they afford the drugs?  Crime seems to come to mind.  It is a viscious circle.

New Mexico is a state in the USA next to Texas, it was an arrid state that looked rather hostile.

ANN,   i agree that drugs are part of the problem,   but in some cases i think it only needs one bad one,   and the rest will follow on,    like sheep,  i heard of one case last week ,  where one man was up on harges,   and the court was told he was on a $3000 drug habit a day,    where could they get that kind of money,      this was not a kid,   but an adult,   but even what the kids use,   youd have to wonder where the money came from,    they cant all steal that much a day,      do they prostitute themselves,?   even that wouldnt bring in that kind of money,    something has to be done,   not only for the uffering public,   but the people themselves,    or we will become a nation of drug addled idiots,

Catsahoy I don't know the answer, but Manilla has become a frightening place, the President let the Police have free range to kill people they considered to be drug dealers or addicts.  he has since asked them to stop going around killing people, but I think they like the power too much now to stop!

HI ANN.    saw on tonights news that 26 kids were taken to hospital from the WHITE NIGHT CONCERT,      some were hallucinating,    being sick,    a bad batch of GHB apparently,      the thing the police should be looking at.   i think,   is the drug dealers that supply these drugs,    not often you hear of them being prosecuted,   i dont know about going around shooting them,,    but that would certainly be on my mind if one of my children were affected,     but when they are caught a 20 year sentance should apply for a first offence,    and life if up on a second charge,     in my opinion it is akin to murder.     i thank my lucky stars every day my 3 kids had the sense to leave them alone,   but have grandchildren and great grand ones coming through the ranks,   i just hope and pray they never try them,  YES,    thats the trouble with some that are given a bit of power,    it goes to there head,    and think they can take the law into there own hands and shoot anyone they like,  [or dislike]         it really is a scourge ,   but the answer as i said is with the dealers,     how we catch them is the problem,      there means of getting the drugs into the country is so devious,   it beggers  belief,      drugs worth a million dollars were being imported in tins of tomatoes,   the almighty dollar knows no bounds.

Hi Catsahoy.

Agree with you.       The only thing I can think of is to make them aware of Drug Dealers and to say no to anyone that wants to offer them to the children.  We tell them not to get into cars, that is drummed into them. So surely we can drum into them the foolishness of wanting to just taste any of these drugs.

I have always felt sorry for the people that clean up after them.  As it has been said to me why don't they just leave them in it so they wake up and have to sort themselves out.  That is a thought. Perhaps we are too soft with them.

I must admit I do favour the death penalty when it comes to dealing in drugs, the importers I mean.

It is the only way we as a nation can be taken seriously.

The photo I am using at the moment is my standard poodle, she is chocolate.  This photo was taken when she was about four years old and had put her nose into some building sand, we were doing a reno on the house we were living in at the time.  On Wednesday she turns 13 yrs.   I don't know where the years have gone.

hi ANN,  i was wondering about the dog,    she looks lovely,    i have a maltese /shitzu,     who is 10 and a half,    she has a bit of poodle in her which is great for me ,   as i am a sinus sufferer,    and with the poodle in her she doesnt shed,     so a real bonus, yea,   the years just fly by,    my youngest grandaughter was 21 last week,    and seems no time since she was a baby,   they grow up to fast,    im afraid the drug problem is one the law needs to looks at more closely,    the dealers need to be gotten rid off,    and there is no deterent at the moment as the law is so soft,     we need a goverment that will stand up to them and hand out proper sentancing,    they show no mercy in places like indonisia,    we need there laws,   but unfortunatly this goverment is not interested in handing out these punishments and until something drastic happens it wont change,   as you say,   education is the thing,   but young ones think they are invincible,    and it wont happen to them,    but as has been shown,    it only takes a couple of hits and they are hooked,  i think hanging is to good for them,    maybe the schools could better educate the kids,      maybe a trip to a hospital that is treating these people as they come off the drugs,   would put a bit more fear into them,     i dont know,   but any and every avenue should be looked at,

Hi Catsahoy!

Yes the small photo doesn't show her very well!

Getting back to the other topic....

I was talking to friends about the possibility of having a camp for wayward drug addicts, or thugs that don't want to behave themselves.  I was thinking of a camp at Kiwirrkurra, apparently it is 1200klms from Port Hedland and 850klms from Alice.

They spend time there to learn to understand themselves and to be social. Learning humility and respect, something that seems to me is greatly lacking in todays society of human beings!

hi ANN,   sounds like a great idea,     if the ones that were bought before the courts had the option of the camp or jail,   im sure most of them would op for the camp,   THE shows i saw on tv abou,t the camps saw a great change in the kids,    but towards their parents and society in general,     could you get any goverment funding forthat,   /?     it wouldnt be cheap feeding them and getting equipment ,     maybe your local member could help,     how many people do you think you would need to implement this,   a great idea,  please keep me up to date on your progress,

They did start these camps in WA about 5 years ago, but it all fizzled out.

I seem to remember about a decade ago it cost around $80,000 to keep each prisioner locked up.  I guess we could double that costing today.  Nothing is cheap to the taxpayer.   This is what is so annoying.  Criminals are treated better today than Senior Citizens.     I think the governments should implement some sort of money earning work for the criminals to  partly cover the cost of keeping them in the comfort they have been accustomed to.   I keep saying to people when this topic comes up....What ever happened to HARD LABOUR?

yes,    an expensive venture ANN,    no one works hard anymore,    thats the trouble,    on tonights news it showed youths who were given community work,   just lazing around ,  they couldnt even do that properly,    seems the police just throw there hands in the air and put it in the to hard basket,

That is typical of all things these days, thats why some get away with so much crime and bad driving.....they know they probably will not get caught and if they do they will get a soft sentence.

That has to stop.....we need more funding for the Police to get tough.

Our prisons are crowded and are more like resorts from what I hear......

Hard labour became soft Green Labor
