Who is Australia's most unpopular politician?

Australians have voted on the most unpopular politician in a GetUp survey of almost 30,000 people.

And they made it clear that they don't want Peter Dutton back after the next federal election.

When asked who they most wanted to remove at the next election, Mr Dutton received 22,028 votes.

Tony Abbott wasn't far behind with 15,932 votes, with the rest of the gang lagging far behind.

I was going to make a comment but I see all the usual crap that some of you come out with so I won't bother!

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed again Pedro ?

enjoy your crappy day

Thanks pedro. ;)

The new matilda top 30 list is pretty much the same. Not a single Labor or Greens polly made the cut? Strange that?

Amongst quite a few questionable politicians, there's one that stands out for me, namely Clive Palmer.

In the US most of the people I spoke to can't stand Bill Shorten.

I'm surprised they even knew any of our politicians LOL.

What did they think of Donald Trump and the current administrative shutdown?

Sorry, should have mentioned I spoke to expats. The Americans have no idea who Shorten is.

The Don seems to be still a big joke to most Americans I spoke to and it seems unlikely he'll see another term.

The references to Bill Shorten, or any other Labor politician, not being included in GetUp's 'most hated' results are irrelevant.

As far as I know, the survey asked the followers to vote for their top three in a prepared list of hard-right politicians, so the lobby group could decide which ones to target for the upcoming election.   Bill Shorten would not have been an option.

In other words, these are the heavy hitters, the ones standing in the way of a Labor victory.

Great to see Scott Morrison supporting our young aboriginal player at the Oz Open

what a guy

cmon Ash Barty

Glad to see that "thing"     Kelly O'Dwyer is going to be gone

Sad - she’s a great lady

good at her job and always had the people at heart

Absolute BS she is a liar and a cheat the same as all of them

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToUGyYySR80

"all of them" ???

Kelly O'Dwyer could not have told Barry the real reason for not having a RC into the financial sector sooner and he knew it. So why the constant badgering? The LNP government could see the watchdogs were weakened by Labor nepotism. They changed the leadership group, legislated for bigger penalties for wrongful advice etc and simply needed the watchdogs to step up. That's the way the system should work.

Its not the 1st time O'dwyer has skimmed around questions asked of her --

Also, any  so-called  "Mother"   that can go and leave her tiny children like that is very strange and says a lot about her -- and its all bad

Pray..do tell us more what you know about Kelly O'Dwyer that makes her such a bad mother?

With a nasty attitude like yours..I can't say you've had any advantage over anyone else by having a stay at home mother!

Oh so you think that sitting around in an office all the early childhood days is GREAT?   Kids of that age should be out in the fresh air being taught  things and taken for walks etc -- NOT lying in a cot all day

Yep Sophie, it's about time that baby got off its lazy bum and got some fresh air

This fool is throwing away money like there is no tomorrow. My vote on this post has got to be ScoMo. No doubt when the Govenment gets into financial trouble, it will be the low wage earners, the hard done by group on the bones of their ass, and the pensioners who will bail him out..... as usual.

The Federal Government will give $6.7 million to the Australian National Maritime Museum so its replica of Endeavour can circumnavigate the country, stopping at 39 different spots along the way. Mr Morrison said it would offer Australians insight into the voyage as well as the experiences of Indigenous Australians.

:) Beemee ... I thought your example of odd pollies was nuts until I found the next one. See below.

And this one is trying to sue the nation ... strange way to try and win votes!!

Mr Palmer is attempting to revive his United Australia Party's political fortunes with a blanket advertising campaign using the Donald Trump-inspired slogan "Make Australia Great", billboards and unsolicited text messages promising UAP would "ban unsolicited text messages".

Clive Palmer threatens to sue Australian taxpayers for $45b as he re-routes business through NZ. He's channelled his corporate empire through New Zealand and threatened to use free trade rules to sue Australian taxpayers for $45 billion as part of a personal dispute with a Chinese mining company.

Full story.

Mad as a meataxe IMO.

In the interests of avoiding the fake news that seniors are apparently so susceptible to (see YLC article), there should have been some disclosure of who is behind GetUp, its membership and its sources of funds and other support.  GetUp is hardly an independent think tank :(  [click for link]

It wasn't the Australian population that was surveyed, it was GetUp polling GetUp members and again, they could hardly be described as representative of the broader community, that would never be signing up for a left-wing lobby group.

Now, what about the question that was asked?  Less coyness, please.  However, since it wasn't given, here it is the rather politically-motivated poll question that GetUp asked its anonymous members (who knows if all are Australian citizens entitled to vote anyhow and how many answered more than once?

Q: "Who do you think will cause the Labor Party the most problems in the next election?"

Sarah (Patrol Boat) Hanson-Young would take out the trifecta for rudeness, stupidity and political opportunism.  Here is 'Patrol Boat' in action [click for link]

There is considerable competition for the gong for most disliked for dubious values, principles and ethics.  The opprobrium usually arises from the abuse of parliamentary position for personal gain.   There is an ex-politician who might like a political comeback who is on a reality TV program at present.

Please save us from Tony Abbott, a man with a great ego but no humility

If it wasnt for Tony Abbott many older people wouldnt be able to afford their electricity bill.

ScoMo blitzing it over Shorty in the polls

LNP also doing great in the latest polls

We may yet be saved from a disastrous labor government

I'm not surprised, have you seen the direction Scott is taking the government?

A brief mission statement..

"Today, the Government made a pledge for 1.25 million new jobs in five years.

We also outlined the next stage of our plan for a stronger economy:

•    Ensure the Government lives within its means.
•    Lower taxes.
•    Back small, family and medium sized businesses.
•    Ensure affordable and reliable energy.
•    Build transport and technology infrastructure.
•    Drive all our industries forward.
•    Ensure Australians of all generations have the skills they need.
•    Keep Australians working together.
•    Keep big businesses accountable.
•    Expand export opportunities.

You can read my speech and download our plan here.

Before our election in 2013, we pledged one million new jobs in five years. Labor said it couldn’t be done, but this target was reached ahead of schedule.

With more jobs, the lowest welfare dependency in 30 years and a Budget returning to surplus, we need to stay the course with our plan for a stronger economy.

A strong economy is the means by which we deliver the services and infrastructure that Australians rely on.

Only the Liberal and Nationals team has the plan to keep our economy strong and our nation secure."

Regards,

Scott
