Working Wife

My husband will receive the full pension when he retires in June. We have worked with a financial advisor to establish this. But I have been offered a part time position where I will earn $18 000 per annum. We own our own home, have $340000 super in total and no other income. What effect will my earnings have on his pension?

Income test for pensions

Better still IMO, either check directly with Centrelink or ask your financial advisor for advice again re your new circumstances.

I would make an appointment with a  Centrelink financial adviser. They will explain it clearly and it’s free.  Your income will likely reduce the pension but you will still have more money and if you like/want the job even better. Not informing Centrelink of any changes to your personal circumstances is not an option.
