Dubai named as world’s best coastline
A study commissioned by Royal Caribbean has revealed that Dubai has the world’s best coastline, with Britain’s Blackpool coming in second place, and the Gulf of Mexico third.

A mathematical equation created by psychologist Dr David Holmes, took into account horizon, sea colour, sand quality, cleanliness, interesting features, air quality and weather.

According to Dr Holmes: “All countries have good and bad shorelines; however, some are stunning in their unpretentious beauty combined with iconic features. Shorelines such as Dubai in UAE score well across all elements of the formula, whilst others such as Inchydoney in Ireland offer wonderful experiences with the added benefit of attracting smaller crowds.”

Australia was the only country to have two coastlines featured in the top 10, which is rounded out as follows:

4. Cape Cod, US

5. Inchydoney, Ireland

6. Twelve Apostles, Australia

7. Cape Town, South Africa

8. Cavelossim, India

9. Krabi, Thailand

10. Whitehaven Beach, Australia.
