Japan is finally open for Aussies, but there’s a catch

Wendy Wu Tours, which carries the largest number of tourist groups to Japan from the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, has been given the  okay to take the first official post-COVID lockdown group tour to Japan on the 26 July.

This announcement comes after 18 months of close consultation,  working hand-in-hand with the Japanese Government and Japanese National Tourism Office.

The  July departure for Wu’s flagship 12-day ‘Jewels of Japan’, will depart  with demand at an all-time high, so it’s likely this tour will sell out in record time.

Wendy Wu, founder of Wendy Wu Tours said: “We’ve been given the green light by the Japanese Government to resume group touring and have taken the unprecedented step of adding an extra tour date in July, to meet the huge demand for travel.
“Our agents and customers have been calling out for a tour date, and an opportunity to travel to Japan as soon as possible, and hence we are so excited to fulfil this with this July tour.”

Ms Wu added: “Our customers will be among the first to visit Japan and to experience the magic of the new Japan at its best. With less crowds in July, it is the perfect time to travel and experience this spectacular country.

“Having not had any tour groups for so long, the warmth and hospitality that our customers will receive this July will be second to none. The tour is fully inclusive plus we will take care of everything, including visas. It really is a monumental tour and an opportunity to be the first travellers back in Japan after nearly three years.”

Japan finally re-opened to Australian tourist groups on Friday 10 June. To meet the exceptional demand, Wendy Wu Tours have also added additional capacity for tours throughout autumn 2022 and for March and April 2023, with tours selling out as quickly as they go on sale.
