Finding love in Lisdoonvarna

There are a million reasons why you would want to visit the west coast of Ireland. But one in particular might be a real life changer. And that’s if you attend the annual Matchmaking Festival in the month of September, when renowned local matchmaker Willie Daly works his magic and unites you with a potential life partner.

Think this sounds like a load of old cobblers?

Think again.

Willie’s been practicing the art of matchmaking for more than 50 years – and is the third generation of Daly matchmakers to help visitors to Lisdoonvarna become luckier in love. He has united 3000 couples, so if you are looking for love, it’s perhaps time to set your cynicism aside.

Willie is not the only matchmaker at work at the September festival – so do add this event to your travel calendar if you feel that 2019 is your year to partner up! There’s good news as well for those seeking same sex romance – October 5-6 is the date for ‘The Outing’, a music and matchmaking festival for the LGBT community, as well as their friends and family.

And for those already in love, partnered, or simply not interested, the charming village of Lisdoonvarna is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, arguably Ireland’s most scenic drive, stretching 2500km through nine counties from Donegal in the north, to Cork in the south.
