Contours Travel is offering an early-bird deal on guided tours to Mexico or South America, with savings of up to $1000 per couple for bookings made before 29 September.

 

Contours Travel’s 20-day ‘Treasures of Mexico’ group tour aims to showcase a fascinating mix of ancient step pyramids, colonial towns, deep canyons, world-renowned cuisine and stimulating cities.

 

The hosted tour begins with four days in Mexico City, with its grand central square, world-famous anthropology museum and enormous Chapultepec Park – home to the impressive Chapultepec Castle. Travellers can climb the famous Teotihuacan Pyramids – huge structures built around 100BC. The journey then continues through central and southern Mexico, where travellers will see vibrant musical and art displays, colourful regional markets, scenic valleys, and taste delicious cuisine – even taking part in a private cooking lesson.

 

The tour continues to the colonial city of San Cristobal, with its cathedrals, handicraft markets and impressive architecture – and the surrounding villages where travellers will see and learn about the local indigenous cultures. The Yucatan Peninsula is next in the itinerary, with its natural and man-made wonders, before it finishes with a relaxing time in Riviera Maya on the beautiful Caribbean coast.

 

The 20-day tour departs on 24 February, 26 May, 1 September and 6 October, 2018. Including flights from Australia, prices are from $9100 per person, twin-share from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, $9400 from Adelaide or Hobart and $9600 from Perth. Perfect for first-time visitors to the continent, the all-inclusive itinerary takes travellers through Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina in comfort and style. Highlights of the tour include; the famous Incan ruins at Machu Picchu, spectacular Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro. On the itinerary are private tango lessons in Buenos Aires, weaving demonstrations in Chinchero, a ride in the world’s highest, urban cable car at La Paz, and the opportunity to help install water filters in a remote community in the Andes. It also includes excellent opportunities to spot wildlife in the mighty Amazon.

 

This 27-day tour departs on 11 March, 15 April, 9 September and 28 October, 2018.
