Earn points in your sleep

Qantas is offering frequent flyer members the option to earn Qantas points while they sleep, with a new app that allows you to compile points as you catch zees.

The Qantas Wellbeing app, developed by Qantas Health Insurance, was designed to encourage healthy sleep habits, with incentives for limiting screen time before bed, developing regular sleep patterns and better understanding healthy sleep practices.

The ‘Sleep Health Challenge’ featured in the Qantas Wellbeing app rewards users with Qantas Points for developing healthier lifestyle habits, with points awarded for walking, cycling, swimming, understanding more about their BMI and blood pressure, and now, sleeping.

How it works:

  • download the free Qantas Wellbeing app

  • set your bedtime routine

  • place your phone down at least 30 minutes before bedtime

  • don’t move your phone until you wake up the next morning

  • wake up with more Qantas Points.

The app also encourages users to track how they feel upon waking, to see how better sleep practices affect their mood. An additional 20 Qantas Points can also be had just for taking part in the Qantas Sleep Quiz.

“There’s a big opportunity for us as a health insurance provider to promote health and wellbeing among customers and demonstrate the value of preventative health management,” said Qantas Loyalty chief Olivia Wirth.

“The Qantas Wellbeing app has been downloaded over 400,000 times and uses Qantas Points to inspire hundreds of thousands of members to lead more active lifestyles. We hope to see the same impact for adopting healthier sleep practices.”

Qantas Frequent Flyers taking part in the Sleep Health Challenge will earn up to five points per night in the first month. After the first month the earn rate reduces to 0.5 points per night for members who are not Qantas Insurance policy holders.

Qantas Frequent Flyers taking advantage of all the Qantas Wellbeing app features have the ability to earn up to 3,406 points per year, with Qantas Insurance policyholders earning up to 20,000 points per year through the app.

You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and be aged 13 years or older to use the App.
