Who has the most powerful passport?

Have you ever wondered which passport is the best to have in the world? Here to settle some long standing disputes, the Passport Index has arrived.

Passport Index is a website that has ranked all the world’s passports, based on where each passport can get you. ‘Passport power ranks’ were decided from how many countries the holder is permitted to visit without a visa.

So which nationality has the most powerful passport in the world? First place is a tie between the US and UK, each able to visit an impressive 147 countries. France, South Korea and Germany take out the second place with access to 145 countries. Italy and Sweden follow closely behind in third position, with a total of 144 countries.

And what about the weakest passport in the world? Sadly, if you hold a passport from Solomon Islands, Myanmar, South Sudan, São Tomé and Príncipe, and the Palestinian territories, you can access only 28 countries, the lowest number in the study.

Here are the top 10 most powerful passports in the world; we’re happy to see Australia slide in there in ninth position, with access to 138 countries.
