QantasLink lands in Hamilton Island

New routes and air alliances can mean more travel options, so what’s new in the air and on the ground this week?


From 28 November, QantasLink will begin direct flights between Brisbane and Hamilton Island.

With the aim of giving customers more travel options, QantasLink will operate four return services per week, Fridays through to Mondays.

Flights are scheduled to take off from Brisbane at 10:45am and arrive in Hamilton Island the same afternoon, at 12:40pm. On return, flights will depart Hamilton Island at 1:05pm and touch down in Brisbane at 3:05pm. On Mondays flights will depart Brisbane at 11am arriving in Hamilton Island at 12:55pm with return flights taking off at 1:20pm and landing in Brisbane at 3:20pm.

Five Qantas frequent flyer points per dollar

Qantas frequent flyers can now earn an extra five points per dollar on top of the one point per $2 they normally earn on Qantas Cash transactions.

The additional points are available when you use your Qantas Cash card to buy Myer, David Jones, iTunes, Priceline and JB Hi-Fi digital gift cards on the Qantas Cash Digital Gift Cards website.

    Anyone considered Magnetic Island? Lot cheaper than Whitsundays and less rain. Big thriving community. Not bad cheap land to build holiday homes and very good holiday rental returns for the many tourists.
