Special for solo travellers

Enjoy the camaraderie of cruising through Europe with an escorted group.

Special for solo travellers

The Viking Team has come up with an entirely new concept – again!

Viking Cruises receives many requests for an escorted tour to Europe, departing from Australia, so it’s very pleased to offer this unique version of its Grand European Tour. In addition to the 15 days of cruising, it includes two pre-nights in Amsterdam and three post-nights in Prague, and is escorted out of Brisbane by Brendan Coory, a cruise-industry veteran with a wealth of knowledge about Europe.

Brendan has 17 years’ experience as a Cruise Director for 11 major cruise companies. He is excited to be back working with Viking, as his career at sea started with the original Royal Viking Cruises. Brendan is looking forward to sharing his vast knowledge of Europe during this exclusive, guided cruise tour. He will also fly with the group out of Brisbane and back.

In this one-off escorted cruise tour, you also have the option of sharing a stateroom with another solo traveller. Viking is the only company extending this offer to its valued guests in a gesture to make river cruising more affordable to all.

From Holland’s windmill-studded tulip fields to Germany’s fairytale castles, from the engineering marvel of the Main–Danube Canal to the picturesque vineyards of Austria’s Wachau Valley, this epic voyage presents the highlights of Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary.

Kickstart your adventure with two pre-nights in Amsterdam, the city of canals and bikes. Sail on the beautiful rivers of Europe on our 15-day Grand European Tour, then immerse yourself in more culture during your three post-nights in the Czech capital.

Fantastic! Share a room with a complete stranger on a cruise where there would be no respite should you not 'get-on'.

I can think of nothing worse!!!! Clearly guests are not valued that highly!

Big deal Viking! sharing with the solo traveller from hell?! no way! What would be really appreciated by the solo traveller would be a solo cabin at a reasonable price! Back to the drawing board Viking cheapskates! Try trade off deals, I don't drink alcohol. deduct my booze bill off the cabin price!
