Qantas passenger hides for her life

Despite Laura Merry having written documentation from Qantas confirming its awareness of her deadly nut allergy months before her flight, the ground crew insisted they hadn’t been alerted and that it was too late to make any requests.

According to The Sun, despite her plea for the airline not to serve nut-based snacks on the hour-long flight to visit her sister, the crew insisted on doing so anyway.

She pointed out that the snacks were complimentary, and as the customers had not paid for them, the airline had no obligation to serve them.

To counter her concerns, the airline gave her a face mask.

Fearful for her life, Laura hid in the plane’s toilet cubicle as the snacks were served. Outrage has broken out over social media, with people expressing their disgust at Qantas’ customer service, insisting a refund is called for and even calling for a nut ban on all airlines.

Do you agree that nuts should be banned on airlines? How should the airline and crew have handled the situation? As always, let us know below.
