Editor’s Choice – Budget Sydney

A trip to Sydney is expensive. By the time you have paid for your flights and planned the attractions you wish to visit, there’s not much left in your wallet for accommodation.

Finding reasonably priced accommodation often means being so far from the action that any savings are negated by transport costs. However, the Travelodge Wynyard offers a big-city location without the big-city price tag.

Why do I like this hotel? The price. OK, so the Travelodge is not know as one of the more luxurious hotels however, I find it hard to complain about the standard of the rooms. I have stayed in far more expensive hotels which have offered much less. The range of accommodation options are what makes this hotel so affordable. A studio room with a Queen bed and fold down sofa bed will comfortably sleep four, making it a great option for families or friends travelling together.

And the location couldn’t be better. Located adjacent to the city’s Wynyard railway station, getting to the hotel from the airport couldn’t be easier and onward travel around the city is a breeze. Make the most of Sydney’s warmer climes by strolling to the opera House, Botanical Gardens or the historical Rocks. And if it’s a good night out you’re after, the city’s theatres and restaurants are just around the corner.

Booking in advance can save you money, with rates for a Friday night around $250 when booked 30 days in advance. Split this between three or four and a night out in Sydney is just about affordable.
