Holidaying with my son Euan is always an interesting balance of making sure he’s not bored (a bored child does not make for a fun trip) and ensuring there’s enough grown-up luxury to provide a happy balance.
For our winter break last year we travelled with friends to the Gold Coast as a special birthday treat for Euan. Having been to the Gold Coast twice before, I knew the perfect spot we would all enjoy, Broadbeach.
Mantra Boradbeach on the Park is where I would recommend for:
• its proximity to town without being smack bang in the middle of restaurants and nightclubs, perfect for a family holiday
• spacious and clean apartments
• great leisure facilities
• fantastic, if slightly expensive, restaurants and bars on site
• a gentle stroll to one of the cleanest and safest beaches on the Gold Coast
While this is not one the most expensive accommodation option in Broadbeach, I would consider it a splurge. To take the sting out of the price, Mantra Broadbeach on the Park is offering three nights for the price of two, with prices from $196 per night, and a $100 voucher towards your next stay at any Mantra property.

If you’re looking for a restaurant recommendation, Koi offers an alternative to pasta, pizza and hot chips which form the staple diet of the Gold Coast. For more details, visit Koibroadbeach.com.au.
