Follow the winter sun in Queensland for 13 days from $3580

SeaLink has announced a second departure date for the popular 13-day – ‘Follow the Winter Sun in Queensland’ escorted tour after a sell-out of the first tour in July.

Departing 22 September, you will join tour escort Shirley Tamm and explore Queensland’s countryside by train, travelling along the picturesque coastline and enjoying island stopovers along the way.

This amazing 13-day tour is ideal for anyone who prefers travelling in the safety of a group and likes meeting new people and enjoying new experiences.

The escorted tour begins in Brisbane with a half-day sightseeing tour and two nights’ accommodation at the Ibis Styles, before travelling north on the Spirit of Queensland to Cairns.

Along the way spend three nights at the Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island, three nights at The Ville Resort-Casino in Townsville and another three at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort.

On Fraser Island, join a 4WD tour visiting Lake McKenzie, the Maheno shipwreck and 75 Mile Beach.

Discover Townsville and its hidden secrets on a fun sightseeing tour from the Riverway precinct to Thornton’s Gap. Experience the Great Barrier Reef without getting wet at Townsville’s Reef HQ, the world’s largest living reef aquarium.

On Magnetic Island, enjoy a full day tour and see many of the island’s picturesque bays, including Horseshoe Bay, and stop for lunch at the Picnic Bay Hotel. That evening be treated to a special dinner at The Pier Restaurant.

In Cairns, board the historic Kuranda Railway for a breathtaking journey to Freshwater Station. Explore the village and markets, then ride the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway above the beautiful Barron Gorge National Park. Finish the day with a visit to the award-winning Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, where the legends of Dreamtime are brought to life.

The tour is priced from $3580 per person and departs Brisbane on 22 September.
