We love a competition which not only offers the chance of winning great prizes, but also satisfies our altruistic streak.
The City of Sydney has launched a new website, www.thegoodhood.com.au, in conjunction with a competition utilising social media and is aimed at encouraging residents to become more eco-friendly and to do their bit to help the environment.
Lord Mayor Clover Moore said “This is a fun competition to encourage people to make small lifestyle changes that when added up can contribute to big reductions in the city’s environmental footprint.”
She has invited Sydney-siders to share their favourite good and green things happening in neighbourhoods across the city, by ‘pinning’ a picture to the website with sustainable prizes in the following categories on offer:
- The most creative entry in the Made & Grown category will win a dinner for 20 at Table for 20 Restaurant in Surry Hill
- The Green & Go winner will win $1000 worth of car-share travel with GoGet.
- The Re-use & Recycle prize with an upcycled TV chair in a fabric of choice from Clothfabric in Darlinghurst.
Even local celebrities, such as celebrated author and television presenter, Indira Naidoo, have got behind the project. See Indira’s balcony garden at www.thegoodhood.com.au.
The competition closes 4 November 2013. For further details go to the website www.thegoodhood.com.au.
