Qantas has revealed its 2017 in-flight safety video

Qantas has revealed its latest in-flight safety video and, if you thought last year’s was good, just wait ’til you see how beautiful Australia and its people look in this one.

The new film follows a similar format to last year’s popular safety video, which featured some of Australia’s most stunning landscapes and some very interesting people. The 2016 safety video received over 90 million views across Qantas’ social media network.

Not happy to rest on its laurels, Qantas set a task of making this film even better, featuring everyday Australians and promoting unique key tourism locations from every state and territory.

“What we’ve found is that it’s a lot easier to grab people’s attention with something that’s interesting to watch,” said Qantas Chief Alan Joyce.

“We know the combination of beautiful landscapes and laid-back Aussie charm really cuts through.  It’s also why this video doubles as a perfect tourism ad.

“Finding smart ways to reach new audiences is a priority for Qantas and the whole Australian tourism industry, and we’re looking forward to rolling the video out as part of our strategy to keep visitor numbers growing.  We’re confident it’ll strike a chord with travellers from around the world, not to mention Australians thinking about holidaying at home.”

Enough chatter, what do you think of the new video?

    Yes the best yet.

I had trouble understanding the words over the background music.

I agree there needs to be anew approach to getting people's attention for the safety drill on board an aircraft, and yes this video is a nice travelogue. BUT it is way too long. People will not bother watching after the first couple of minutes and that wastes the whole thing or they will 'forget to listen' and be too absorbed in the imagery.

I thought it was great, but yes it's a bit too long

I love it. So much more engaging than the normal safety instructions.

It is a very good travelogue, but as for a safety video, NO. When you are talking to people about safety and what they must do to survive any catastrophe, you need their full attention.Like as if you are giving a lecture on it, you don't need distractions. There are many great shots of Oz and its people, but not for safety. Like sapper, some of the words were a bit indistinct, and were overlaid with music..Sorry Alan, but the direct cabin safety video is far better for its importance without distractions..

I really like it. Tastefully done but the MUSIC background is a bit too loud.

I can't see it , for some reason. Anyone with an idea why

I also can't stand any item where the music is much too loud, almost covering the dialogue, why do they do this? So ridiculous.
