A slap on the wrist

You all know the story. A 14-year-old Australian boy was arrested in Bali on October 4 for buying drugs outside a supermarket near Kuta Beach. ‘He is too young to know better’ is the first thought that comes to the mind of most people. However, I think back to my teenage years and, whether it was my upbringing, or the fact that my parents taught me better, there would be no way I would even consider committing a crime overseas.

He has been lucky and received a sentence of 2 months in jail, which means he will be released in a week because of previously served time spent in custody. Is this enough? Will he learn from the experience? I personally think an extra month behind bars (the amount the prosecution was asking for) would do him the world of good.
