There’s something interesting and fun to do at all of Lend Lease’s villages across Australia, every day of the week – whether it’s taking part in some sort of sports competition, such as golf, tennis or lawn bowls, joining a book club or attending more formal events hosted by each village.

A group of residents at Lakeside Village in Western Australia is adopting healthier lifestyle changes one step at a time. The residents have organised a regular walking group – not only as a means to stay healthy, but also as a way to make new friends.

With Lakeside Village located so close to Bibra Lake, the residents don’t have to go far to find great walking tracks and scenery.

“At Lakeside we are really spoilt for choice in terms of location,” said resident Lil Morgan

“There are six kilometres of walking and cycling tracks around the lake so we are never short of somewhere new to try. Following the walk we all meet back up at the Club House to help prepare a hearty breakfast which is the perfect end to a great activity.”

Caesia Gardens in Victoria is another Lend Lease village with a regular social walking group.

“The village is surrounded by wetlands and scrub so the residents don’t have to go far to find great walking tracks and routes,” said Village Manager Cassandra Rhodes.

“What’s more, residents taking part in the group are seeing the results of the regular exercise – with many commenting that they now have more energy each day.”
