Having an oarsome time

Lend Lease retirement villages are filled with people from diverse backgrounds. At all of its villages you’ll find residents with incredible stories about interesting lives led in the past and continued passions today.

Ian Russell from Trinity Green in Mawson Lakes is one of them.

69-year-old Ian has been rowing for more than half a century and, if his performance at the recent Masters Games in Adelaide is anything to go by, he’s showing no signs of giving the sport away yet.

“I’ve been rowing since I was a teenager and when I moved to Trinity Green I returned to the Torrens Rowing Club and masters rowing,” Ian said.

“We usually train three times a week and it’s a lot of fun.”

When he’s not training, Ian and his wife Pam enjoy the many social activities on offer at Lend Lease’s Trinity Green.

“Even though we’re both still very active, Pam and I decided to move to a retirement village because of the facilities and activities on offer – it is great living in a community of like-minded people,” Ian said.
