Set up an Android wifi hotspot

A wifi hotspot allows you to share your mobile data with other devices nearby and it can be a lifesaver while travelling. Find out how to set it up for Android in this quick video.

To enlarge the video to fullscreen, click the square icon at the bottom right-hand corner. Volume can be adjusted by clicking the vertical bars to the right-hand side of the time indicator.

Hello, I’m Anne from YourLifeChoices.

Today we’re going to show you how you can turn your smartphone or tablet into a portable wifi hotspot. To turn it on, unlock your device and open up settings.

Now scroll down until you see Network settings, or something similar, then tap Tethering and Mobile Hotspot. Then tap Mobile Hotspot and tap this button to turn it on.

You can adjust the hotspot settings by tapping these three dots. Simply tap the button again to turn it off.

And that’s it! You now know how to turn your smartphone or tablet into a portable wifi hotspot.
