New ministry announced: who is on the move?

Malcolm Turnbull's new ministry has been announced.

With 23 frontbench MPs, Malcolm Turnbull yesterday announced his new ministry, one of the largest in parliamentary history. So, who’s going where?

Nationals Deputy Leader Fiona Nash can now add Minister for Local Government and Territories, Minister for Regional Development and Minister for Regional Communications to her business card. And Michael McCormack will move from Assistant Minister for Defence to Minster for Small Business (this has been removed from the Cabinet and now falls under the Treasury portfolio).

Three backbenchers have also been promoted with Luke Hartsuyker now Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, Zed Seselja is to be Assistant Minister for Social Services and Multicultural Affairs and David Gillespie now Assistant Minister for Rural Health.

There are also several ministers whose portfolios have changed:

    Hey Rainey
As I work in both fields, aged care and disability, they are both as screwed as each other. Its not a competition! The genuinely disadvantaged are always in dire straights and there doesn't seem to be any ministers who have a clue. Thats half the problem, they have no idea about the areas they are working in and its the advisors they are relying on! Its time their salary was tied to outcomes and KPI's like the rest of Australia.

Its just bloody minded to leave Tony Abbott on the back bench, he is the only one with balls.
Im sure he would be valuable in a decent portfolio.

Talkbull doesn't want anyone on the front bench who has balls or any gumption whatsoever. He only wants toady little crawling sycophantic ass-kissers like he has had all along.

By the way and not too many people known this - there are not any urinals in the mens' toilet in Parliament House. Does that tell you something?

The irritation for me is Michaelia Cash. She dresses extremely well (in competition with Julie Bishop) but when she opens her mouth its Kath & Kim all over. I hope she gets some lessons as besides the chewed up words she is so loud its as if she's shouting to be heard from the other side of the country to Canberra.

Mitty, Michaelia Cash was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and went to one of the top private schools in Perth. I suspect it's too late for any lessons. I find her voice irritating, but more importantly her lack of empathy for ordinary Australians

You have stated one of the main problems Sundays.

These people have always had huge advantage and only ever mixed with their own kind.

They simply can't have empathy as they have no knowledge of disadvantage or adversity.

Their ideology is all they know and believe in and talking to one another simply adds to that world view.

I'm not sure what the solution is short of universal adversity and they way the world is headed that may come sooner than later.

The size/numbers is an issue. Why is it necessary to keep increasing the size of government each time there is an election? More ministers and assistant ministers adds more cost to the taxpayer not only while they are active/inactive participants in government but "afterwards" in their "retirement".
This in no way lends itself to cutting expenditure in a "supposedly" financial "crisis".
I was pleased to see George Brandis lose his "Arts" portfolio which has gone to Mitch Fifield as part of his new portfolio. I wonder if Brandis will hand over his "enlarged" library of arts to Mitch? He should. I don't like the idea of Christian Porter as Minister for Social Services he doesn't seem to have the right temperament for that position and I certainly would like to see the ousting of Peter Dutton, he always seems to put his foot in his mouth with derogatory comments regarding the refugees under his care. He has lost a lot of votes in his electorate this time.
There has been new titles to some portfolios but where has "Multi-Cultural Affairs" gone? Craig Laundy was Assistant Minister in the last parliament, I guess it has gone into some other portfolio? Multi-Cultural Affairs should be important seeing the problems we have all over the world with terrorism.
After watching Q&A last night it will be interesting to see how the Senate operates and it will determine how the government performs as well. There are interesting times ahead.

Rainey, I was wondering if anyone has contacted Pauline Hanson, whom it would seem a number of people voted for, about our concerns to the unfair changes made to superannuation. She does not appear to have any awareness of the cuts made in 2015 or our concerns about them. People do need to talk to her before Scott Morrison gets in her ear and convinces her of the wisdom of his cuts to senior ‘welfare’ so that he can provide a tax cut for business and high income earners. She may start attacking seniors if she gets his version of economics. She mentioned on Q & A that she will be talking to him this week.
I am summarising a post from someone else, as follows.
‘We should contact Jacqui Lambie, who is onside; Andrew Wilkie; Bob Katter and Derryn Hinch who would be a particularly good spokesman. Nick Xenophon usually votes with Labor as he did when he voted to cut part pensions and the super supplement for people with defined benefits superannuation. He can be reproached about the fact that seniors have been targeted for all Budget cuts. People in the major parties apart from the leaders should also be contacted, perhaps Arthur Sinodinos in the LNP; Barnaby in the Nats; Sam Dastyari in Labor and our local members. We cannot rest on our laurels just yet. We need to keep up the pressure as big business is exerting a lot of pressure to significantly increase the taxes retirees pay and cut pensions so that they can have greater tax cuts.’ They have a free run until the next election.
I have to confess I am yet to contact any of them. I feel jaded from contacting people in the months leading up to the election.

Sorry to change the subject again but this really got up my nose. I am referring to the young bloke who got a horrible knock in the WAFL last week-end. Everbody must have seen it on the news.
How DUMB, STUPID and MENTALLY RETARDED are the WAFL Tribunal. They give a 10 game suspension for a completely average tackle. Channels 7, 9 and 10 can show 1000s of much worse aggressive incidents, and the Tribunal give the biggest suspension in 30 years. I think I will follow table tennis to see some agro from now on.
