With work constraints and associated day-to-day pressures a thing of the past, further education is something many retirees consider. But the decision to tackle lifelong learning can be daunting to face on your own – and that’s why U3A is such a popular choice.
U3A, or University of the Third Age, is an international movement which promotes and practises lifelong learning by providing low cost educational opportunities for retired people in a relaxed and informal environment.
No prior educational qualifications are required and no degrees are awarded.
Residents at a number of Lend Lease communities have been introduced to U3A courses through their village – many of which are venues for various U3A courses – providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for people to enjoy the challenges and stimulation of lifelong learning.
So whether it’s computer studies, English literature, science and the environment or history that has your interest, why not consider getting involved in lifelong learning – and if U3A courses aren’t available at your Lend Lease village of choice, you could always start them!
