Rescued raccoon and canine siblings

Last year, Rosie Kemp had wandered into her backyard and found a baby raccoon that had fallen from a tree and broken its leg. The raccoon’s mother was nowhere to be seen, so Rosie, already the proud owner of two rescue dogs, decided it would be best to take the little masked critter into her care.

Rosie and her daughter Laura nursed the raccoon until it recovered from its injuries, after which they decided to adopt the tiny orphan. They named her Pumpkin, and she is now a proud sister to two dogs and happy member of Rosie’s family.

“She instantly bonded with us and our two rescue dogs and follows me and our two dogs everywhere we go,” said Rosie. “She now thinks she is a dog… she is able to play and be rough with them and she respects them when they have had enough.”

Rosie is proud of little Pumpkin, but says, “Raising her is a full-time job”

These photos of Pumpkin and her unlikely canine siblings are as heart-melting as they are super cute. We especially love the pic where she is sitting on the couch in a pose typical of the man of the house. Which one is your favourite?
